I think it might not be as easy as you think. At my first job I was at same position and yes, I got a little more money after some time, but they never thought I might do something better. I like to learn new things and do new things, but some people prefer when you just sit and do one thing again and again, always same way. But on the opposite side, in my actual job I'm officially still at same position (maintenance electrician), but they see I am pretty good at some things and try to support me. Sadly, my boss is pretty confused (and is slowing everything down I thing), while his boss is supportive and tries to motivate me and improve my skills.


And now about me - it's better now and to be honest, my boss is probably biggest problem. He is good guy, but every week he acts differently. In past, morning shifts had a lot of work to keep machines running and afternoon shifts had practically free time (just to repair few machines that are running) and maybe some minor tasks to do. Now it's usually opposite, afternoon shift has long list of tasks that are nearly impossible to do during one shift and morning shift usually just takes care about machines. But since just part of machines is in use compared to past, it's usually better to be at morning shift than afternoon shift.
Of course that's bad when whole maintenance has one computer, you need to search for components, but your boss is sitting here practically whole day and think you're probably just watching videos with cute cats when you finally get to it. And during afternoon shifts you practically have no time for that.


Also, I probably found nice way to cheat whole system a little. Company really supports "kaizen" (improvement ideas), so I can think of some nice improvement, fill form and then get it as task to finish until certain date. That way I might reduce tasks that are there just to fill my "free time" and do what I (and people who approved kaizen) really think makes sense. I just got approved two ideas, one should be finished until end of February (so next monday I'll search for some pneumatic valves with my boss) and other one takes longer time, so I have time until end of April.


I'm curious how I'll feel during next...let's say three weeks. If it will be bad again or stay good at least for a while

Well in my case I hope that my new boss will see my hard work.
As I am a worker who is called for needed help, situation.
And I wait to receive a proper reward. Maybe being promoted and getting increased salary.

That's practically my job too, but when majority of workers doesn't talk with your language (and not even English), then it's pretty difficult to repair machines and tell them what they should and shouldn't do.
I got my salary increased few times, but never got promoted. My parents think it's pretty simple to just look for office jobs at same company and grab chance, but there are no offers for those jobs...and then two unknown people come to positions you never heard of and was not mentioned anywhere. Also I really don't think they would allow me to just move into office when they see how good I am. Doesn't matter I might do a lot more improvements from own office.

I hope it will be better in your case. Today I went to work and expected I'll wire up speakers, so people can listen to radio. There were speakers in past (not even month ago), but some metal constructions were removed and speakers were removed together with that. So, I expected to do that. But no, I get to work and get new plan for today, to check some timing belts and replace them if needed. And of course we were doing something very different for nearly whole day. And tomorrow I'll listen my angry boss asking what the hell were we doing and why it took that long.

I don't get it. I was told by few coworkers I'm too good to work at job I'm now and my boss knows that. But he still gives me those WTF tasks that can make me only angry and willing to leave my actual job.

I bet your boss have somebody who is close friend of his or his family member.
He tries to made you angry to leave your job. I think that such boss should be removed and somebody more friendly should be there.

Hi again. Really interesting thing happened few days ago - there was meeting for all employees, we were told how well company grows, blah blah blah,...and in one moment they mentioned new job offers. Three of them are already pinned on wall for some time (all worker positions), but they are also finding technical guy to office. So after meeting I asked boss of that department, he seemed interested and was mainly asking about my English skills. Friend who worked at that department was around and said he is already worse than I am. You should see his surprised face!
After few days I decided to type him email asking what exactly should I do (if it's needed to send CV) and I decided to type everything in English to prove him my skills He already answered and it seems he might be interested O.O
So...there's chance I might move forward with new boss and learn new things. In same company! That's crazy and awesome!

We'll see how it will end

Still no answer, that sounds like nope.

And to make it more interesting, coworker accused me of something I didn't do (because I was around) and you can't say anything, because you're automatically liar to everyone.

BUT I found some old PLC computers in trash, so I have them at home and I'm trying to find some "free" software to work with them. Original still costs around €700 even while it's 15 years outdated product that will nobody use nowadays :/ I wish there was possibility to buy that for cheap. Even built-in simulator might be good enough (although running it on physical HW would be better). But everything is pretty expensive for guy, who just wants to try how it works and if he understands it correctly. I'd love to work with PLCs in future, but without previous experience nobody will be interested in you :/

It's long term goal, just to motivate me and force me to tidy up room, so THEN I can buy my reward. I had longer weekend now, so I wanted to do it during those four days. But for two days I was feeling weird (allergies probably) and then I visited Samantha at sunday, so I have only monday. At least I'm full of energy somehow and it goes fine.
And I want to prepare and measure few things so I could make legs for my new "table" (out of broom sticks that are lying in trash at work) and move my PC out of main table. I decided to divide my table into working space (whole table I use right now) and fun space (small addon table with keyboard, mouse and screen).

And my reward after I tidy up my table is...*moment of silence*...24V industrial power supply! With new LED strips for my table and more things to come. I expect it co cost about €80, but maybe I'll slap my pocket and buy more powerful power supply (sadly double power is double price). I already have ideas for few things, where that power supply might be useful.
