# About me
The human form- in particular the face- is a prominent thread that runs through my work, either by depicting small-scale portrait studies, or actively engaging my own body in installation style photographs. The incorporation of media make-up adds new, exciting layers inside to context of my photography, layer upon layer of make-up and props applied directly to my body in order to create wounds, bruises and physically restricting barriers. My practice is charged emotionally independent of the audience’s previous exposure to art. By incorporating recognisable human forms, the audience-through empathy- is forced to experience the work through a series of gut reactions and feelings.There is a constant interrogation of reality and fantasy. A highly pertinent quote regarding my practice is:
“Artists use lies to tell the truth. Yes, I created a lie. But because you believed it, you found something true about yourself.”

Yup, those lights are mean. They like to fight back when you're back's turned
But thank you, she's a great model and is very expressive just in her personality alone, so it was't too difficult to capture the emotion that she's always giving off.
