I bought a new book of watercolor paper recently, so I should be good to go for a trade, if you'd still like to.
Who shall I draw? I'd really like to try Raikuro, but I'm game for anyone (although the more animal parts they have, the more successful I'll likely be, lol)

Eee! Absolutely! You're more than welcome to do Raikuro - or if stark black isn't your thing, he's got some Tengu friends - one is modeled after a northern goshawk and the other after an indigo bunting. Let me know if you want their detailed descriptions.
What would you like from me? I'm still trying to improve, but I'm game for almost anything animal, humanoid, or something in between. I usually start my stuff in pencil then scan and ink it in photoshop. if you wanted something more substantial, i think I have some canvas and acrylics in my closet somewhere...

An indigo-bunting-based tengu sounds so beautiful - I'd love to hear more about them.
As for me, the only active character I really currently have is my Anjali [link] . I was wondering if perhaps you could draw him in human form - I unfortunately don't have a reference for him that way, but I can provide more detail if that sounds like something you'd want to do.
As for medium - whatever you want to work in is just fine.

Ooh, that sounds like fun! I immediately got a few ideas for how to humanize anjali, but please let me know any specifics...
My indigo bunting tengu is named Lapis: He's got what I call "sasuke hair" [link] with more asymmetry in the bangs, and in that fantastic iridescent blue, with hints of chocolate brown underneath.
The skin around his eyes is black - kind of like he smudged kohl around them, but like Raikuro's falcon streaks, that's just how his skin is colored.
His wings are exactly the indigo-bunting wings, all blue and iridescent and *eeeee*, and large - the shoulder-joints sticking up over his head.
He's more of a scout than a fighter, so he's not as muscled as Raikuro. His preferred dress is the tengu-style top which laces up one side and up the back of the neck, but he wears loose pants gathered around the ankle, with a fringed sash over the top, and gold bangles around his wrists and ankles.
I'll put up a quick reference sketch of him tonight or tomorrow to help with his outfit - I pick the strangest clothes for my OC's XD

He sounds gorgeous! I love indigo buntings, although I've only seen one once or twice - several years ago. A ref would be very helpful, especially for the clothing. Can't wait to get started~
Let's see, as for Anjali: He'd probably be in his late 20s as a human. He not a fighter, so he's not burly - sort of slim and lanky. Black hair, and his red markings over his eyes (unless you want to draw him wearing his mask, which is fine too). Clothing I'm not picky about - maybe a traveling cloak of some sort? But anything is fine, really. If it helps, if he were a human he'd likely be a traveling healer or an herbalist...something of that sort. Feel free to ask me anything if you want more details~

Thanks for the fave! Since you want some art criticism as well:
Work on increasing the range of your shadow and highlight tones. An easy way to do this is to use the flow tool. Set it to about 4% with the brush on 0 hardness and it makes shading a lot easier and look more natural. Keep working on your anatomy. I believe that there are several sites such as posemaniacs that have photos or models you can use as references. Finally, draw every day, if you can. It makes the whole process a lot smoother and your figures will become much more relaxed. I hope this helps and please message me if you have questions!
