My apologies for the late reply. Unfortunately, I'm not able to work on any commissions at this time. My laptop died a few years ago, so I lost access to all the digital apps I use, mainly Photoshop and Illustrator. Plus, life necessities has made it difficult for me to invest the time or the money into getting a new computer. I'm hoping all that can change within the next several months though.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to work on any art projects since my old laptop died a few years ago, and I haven't had access to Photoshop since. I have no idea when I'll be able to start updating my da again, but it's not going to be anytime soon. I appreciate your interest though. I'd love to draw more of Ibuki.

I've uploaded replays of a lot of matches directly from Ultra SF4 to youtube, but that's about it. I'll be disappointed if SF5 doesn't have that feature.

It's not a bother at all. 

Well, I'm not embarrassed about any of the characters I like. But I really like Birdie despite some questionable mannerisms of his, like licking his chain after a fight. He's extremely underrated, for reasons that I think are unjustified (such as being a black stereotype; I just don't see it).

[Okay, good.  After researching about him, I can agree he's an interesting character.  Like, as soon as I realized he's a mohawk-wearing wrestler, I noticed he has those similarities with Zangief!  He's intimidating even to look at, yet I can't help but also be intrigued.  I mean, look at that mohawk!  That extremely wide collar of his vest, his pointy shoes, and all that jewelry...  His name doesn't seem to immediately match him, since it sounds so cute, yet I can assume that he got his name from his weird, beak-like mohawk.  Dang, I find it almost unbelievable that he was pale in the first Street Fighter because of a flu, yet he looked okay in official artwork.  I was like, damn...  Of course, also remembering he was known as a criminal associated with Shadaloo, I know I'd be fearful if I actually met him.  He doesn't sound like a very nice person.  I don't get why he likes to lick his chain; it's really weird.  I kinda like the look of chains too, but I wouldn't normally lick them!  Eww.]

His original design was based on those goons working for Mr. Heart's gang in Fist of the North Star. Capcom was influenced a lot by that manga. I don't know why they made him black and then retroactively gave him a sickness, but I wouldn't have noticed him without his current look. It just appeals to me so much more. The chains are particularly cool because he uses them for his grappling moves. I don't know of any other character that can choke and slam someone around with a chain all at once.

I read that Birdie was named after a golf term. But yeah, the mohawk does resemble a beak, which I think is fitting.

[Cool, I'm glad we agree on that.  Not to bash either character, but I'd also agree that pairing her up with Rolento in Street Fighter X Tekken sounded like a real bad move.  I mean, as much as I actually kinda like him, their personalities are way too different.  I imagine it's like seeing a really smart/strict person having to do a group project with a total rebel.  Sorry if I'm annoying you, here, though.]

As for Rolento… he's not just strict, he's downright evil. I don't know if you've played Final Fight, but he was a boss character in that game. He was basically a member of a crime syndicate that tried to take control of Metro City by kidnapping the mayor's daughter. He's since started his own private army, but even now, he's going around ambushing people and forcing them to join, and if they refuse, imprison or kill them. So yeah, having him as Ibuki's partner was the stupidest thing they could have done.

[You do?  I've never played Final Fight, but I am aware he was a Mad Gear member and that he's building his own "utopia", or something.  I did sorta get the idea he was finding people to recruit for his army, but I admit I wasn't aware he also hurts people for refusing.  If that's the case, I must've misinterpreted his personality when I first read somewhere he refused to use the Psycho Drive because he wants people to be free to make their own choices, not to be reduced to mindless guinea pigs, and that he never seemed to truly hate his enemies.  I hope I'm not making a mistake joining this fandom.  I normally consider myself a Disney dork!]

Rolento has these delusions of a nation for soldiers, and he commits crimes to make it reality. Anyone who doesn't support his ideals is a target. That's how he instigates the majority of his fights. He attacked Guy and Cody, he even went after Sodom until he changed his mind. You can still see him making threats in some of his win quotes as well.

What's more interesting is he's based on a villain from Fist of the North Star who had the same motives, except he also killed people for being too weak.  

Anyway, it's good you have this much of an investment in Street Fighter. It's one of the few titles left that I still consider a real game. There's almost nothing else on the market that interests me anymore. But I find that the fandom is often like politics. On the one hand, you have players that only care about showing off and winning money at tournaments, and casuals who don't understand the competitive value to fighting games, or the need to improve them. Going too far in either direction is unhealthy. 

I appreciate every aspect of the series: the art, the characters, the lore, the merchandise, as well as the strategy that goes into the game itself. So I'm right in the middle.

The villain from Fist of the North Star. The nuclear war in that manga was caused by a group of fat, bureaucratic bastards, so he wanted to build a world where only strong people get to live. If he found you taking shelter in some shanty town, and you weren't good enough to be a top-ranking soldier in his army, it meant you were dead. 

Rolento hates weakness, but the difference with him is he kills people for insubordination. And that's not limited to his own soldiers, but any fighter he tries to recruit who refuses, or just flat out insults him.

[I see.  I had a feeling he hates it when people object to him, but for some reason, I thought he still let them live, or something.  Man, I must be stupid... Now, I'm starting to wonder whether it was dumb of a friend and I to tone down his personality in the roleplays we do.  You wouldn't believe how much we did, even for a world that's not even strictly Street Fighter/Final Fight.]

The only time he'd let anyone live is if he judged them as an inept fighter and wrote them off as a "civilian", or if he took them prisoner to gain some advantage over an enemy, like he did when the Mad Gear kidnapped Jessica Haggar.

I think you had the right idea, personality-wise. He thinks of himself as a hero, but at the same time, that's also what makes him a dictator.

People in general don't think of themselves as evil or in the wrong. Rolento's the kind of villain that doesn't recognize that his actions are unethical, partly because he's so wrapped up in his own sense of self-righteousness. That describes pretty much any historical dictator to a tee. While he's not interested in brainwashing people, his utopia is still nothing short of a police state where everyone is subjugated to his order. And his insanity is transparent just from the measures he's willing to take to get it.
