Actually, it is Roze! Her name is written in Japanese as ロゼ (Ro-ze) instead of ロセ (Ro-se). We all call her Rose, and the English version calls her Rose but her name CAN be written as Roze, even though it's not "correct" English-wise.

Yeah, guess so, but, the imposible thing is the pairing, I mean, I respect your opinion on it, but to me, it doesn't makes sense, because edwin it's canon, BUT I LOVE FANMADE PAIRINGS,(Well it couldnt be if it's brotherhood, and if not it would be the same, cuz ed gets to the other side of the gate, and never comes back, in the original.... hmmm....)

Hahah, just kidding... But I think it's interesting, too! I love the idea.
I wish this had been the first chapter, as I would prefer it as opposed to the one with Cornello, whom I disliked... and how the brothers left Rose, it made me a little sad.
However this one is very cheerful in comparison - almost tear-worthy~~

You know, I think it´s crazy how much Arakawa was able to change the story just because her editor asked her to o.O He was certainly right when he said that it had a lot more potential...Buut, I think it would´ve impressed even more me as this little oneshot instead of the whole series she pulled from it (though that´s likely just me, as I personally think that the story lost it´s quality over the time 
Anyways, I thought that Cornello was pretty badass - and he died pretty soon after his encounter with Ed - unlike Yoki who followed the crew around for so long
I definitely agree with you on the topic how the elrics just left the poor girl with very few words of consolation - but that makes the fact that Rose regained the strength to move on with her life just more impressive. With Winry, on the other hand, we were just shown that she needs lots and lots of appreciation from the Elrics and her friends (not that there are that many - why does she depend so much on the brothers?? She was just fine at the beginning of the manga!)
It´s a bit sad that they didn´t include her more, I mean come on! What´s with all that "my childhood friend is the only girl for me"-thing that so many manga heroes have? I simply don´t get it ._.
Good thing you´re asking, I myself actually got that information from another group (I think it was the dA-Risembool-Rangers or the FMAFanclub). They posted the link and I was surprised that our little group here didn´t say anything about it, so I thought I´d share the happy news at least in the comments ^^

So, this little comic was just a oneshot? And not the initial draft of the first chapter? As in, it was more like a short story? Yea, I think this story is very cute and original, too. I share your opinion of the change in the story over time - do you think the editors intervened too much? That would've been disappointing ):
Hahah, yea he is a good villain, just mean. Also a good character. (: I'm just not sure what I mean... Like somehow I enjoy the lack of such a villain in this version (: He works well in the other, nonetheless.

It never says her last name in the original anime -japanese- or the manga. I think they might have called her Rose Thomas in the dub, but I really don't know. It could be just an unofficial thing, but I know the majority of people know her with that surname.

in a book called fullmetal alchemist anime profiles. its an official book, it should still be in book stores. if not, u can get it online (i recommend it). its all in color loded with screencaps and has a pic of ed mustang al and hues on it
