Okay, I found your rates! I would probably need five pics. Though obviously we could start with one and see if you liked working with me and go from there! (I'd hate for you to commit to five only to find out that I'm a sketchy cranky psycho and then feel like you didn't have an out!)
In addition to paying the $20 / picture I can also offer some web space and a bit of html/php/flash programming if you need it.
Anyway, if you go to [link] that is the game site that I am building. However my previous artist just got a new job and then he and his wife had a baby, so I can pretty much guarantee I won't be seeing any work from him in the next while! Good news for him... Bad news for me!
The images that I need will be characters for the game. At the moment I'm trying to get the fight game completed, and it has been an uphill battle. Once that one is done I can concentrate on the main game, which will end up requiring LOADS of artwork.

-Daleicious: I'm actually not much of an artist at all, I'll upload a couple of my other things here, but mostly I'm a programmer, a bit of a writer, and only an occasional sketcher. I have been adding all the people who I really like to my watch list, in the hopes that once I am done with my current project I can start commissioning artwork for the web game I'm building.

Interesting - I'm in the same boat. Coding by day, drawing by night. I've even had the fortune to combine development and art (in a sense) when I lead the production of a Windows-based 3D platformer game back in 1996.
I'll soon be posting some recent web-site work I've done. It is designed to look like a desktop with fantasy trappings (paper, books, that sort of thing). It looks less like a web interface and more like a client application interface. You might be interested to see it. I can't post it yet since it uses brushes and stock from deviantART and the original creators of those resources require linkbacks to their pages... so I have to hunt down the links for each of the bits I've used.
