Thank yoooou. I was having a hard hard time starting my NaNoWriMo story, but once I got past the very very very beginning part and action started happening like I planned, its started to go much faster. ^^

No, I'm not NaNo-ing. It's not the kind of thing I can commit to (And I just DO NOT write that way.) But I admire people who do it. Right now I'm working on a story about my OC (H'omygosh I have one!?) which is being very fun and funny.

Well, I know Chromie's doing her own version of NaNoWriMo, which is just to try and write once a day (I think). But, I understand ^^ Its definitely tough. D:

I am so happy that I finally hit the meaty bits of my story. Basically, the bits I'd been imagining and wanting to write about, which is mostly two characters bickering and eventually becoming best fwends~, while surviving, like, an alien invasion >.> So yes.

I am torn between wanting to thrust it at Chromie and go "READ" to get some feedback and thus be encouraged, and the fear that she wont be as entertained by it as I hope, and thus I will get discouraged.

I'd say finish it before thrusting it at anybody, because what they say will effect the outcome of the story, and I think you write some pretty epic stuff that's all you... I hope that makes sense. I just worry that you'd get so caught up in implementing suggestions that you'd lose sight of the storytelling itself. My two cents.

I imagine it is driving you bonkers. but you're ALMOST THROUGH!! There's only a little bit of November left!

But if you do "truck through" and finish, that is all the more admirable. I mean, you'll then be taking your story seriously enough to make it more important than some arbitrary deadline. So go you.

Well, I didn't get to 50,000 before November, but I got to 36,889, which I feel is still rather respectable. I've been taking a break from writing, but I want to finish, regardless. Its probably going to be longer than 50,000, I think possibly.

Either way... Book recommendation?

The Warrior's Apprentice, by Lois McMaster Bujold.
...and the rest of the series. I haven't read them yet, but from the sound of things, they are full of win, and as I said, remind me of your story in vibeyness.

Yeah! Ky is now a permanent Art Night member! I love having her there to a degree that freaked her out a little at first. I dunno; she's just somehow the balancing element I was craving. Just got back from Art Night, actually, and we were hoping you were doing ok -- aside from the sickies and stuff.

*heehee* She did say she was only teasing when she said you creeped her out the first night. ^^ I'm so taking some of the credit for getting her involved in Art Night, and I'm so glad it worked out so nicely It makes me happy when my friends are friends. ^^

And, I am doing quite well. Getting over the sickies gradually, but at least I have my voice back. I'm probably going to be coughing and coughing for awhile yet, but maybe this will mean I -wont- get sick on the way back from Utah. (btw, officially have train tickets, officially officially coming to visit yoooou. )

And yaaaay, book recommendations! I will have to come up with some that you'd like... I dunno, do you read much Sherlock Holmes? I've got a series that I rather like, that I haven't had the chance to share with anybody yet.

My dad read ALL of Sherlock Holmes to us when we were little, and we listened to Basil Rathbone being him in old radio plays ftw. Then later, I read some of... that one series with the girl in it that teams up with him... I think the title of one was Monstrous Regiment of Women...

Oh! Well, that one, actually. XD The Mary Russell books, by Laurie R. King. When I first heard about them, I put them down almost immediately because Mary sounded like such a Mary Sue. And, well, in some ways she still does. But the author keeps everyone so well in character, and writes so gosh darn well, and makes Mary an actually interesting, flawed, imperfect character even though the premise is so Sue-ish I can't help but like it. ^^

The first one's the Beekeeper's Apprentice, which I'm rereading now, but they've got a whole bunch of books. She's also got another detective series set more modernly in San Francisco.
