You too, I found your tutorial on special effects to be helpful. I'm a decent sprite artist, but I've just begun using photoshop recently and little tips like "smudge the bottom of the fire to blend it in" really help a lot.

Oh god, what a question. No one's asked me that before. I can't even remember when I started.
I guess it was around the time when Advance Wars 2 came out. I was a member of a very dedicated fan site for Advance Wars and the staff ripped all the graphics and sprites from the game.

Those. Those are the sprites I basically started out with. Not small NES sprites, nothing like that.. Those. I started editing those, I started with color swaps. I really enjoyed doing that. I moved on from there.
