Your art is simply amazing! I've seen lots of artist who are influenced by European Art, but I have never seen one who bases his/her work on the style of the Muslim Ottoman or Persian empires. Simply beautiful.

Thank you, respectful one. Yes, I admire Islamic medieval and renaissance art and I think it is worth creative attention, because it shows real Eastern atmosphere, manners and attributes, rather than the stereotypical orientalist's artworks. So yeah, Middle East and Central Asia culture and hsitory is the source of my inspiration.

I saw your Isaac Newton drawing and he looks so amazing!

Surprised you didn't add in how he had a younger male lover in addition to be a private person which led to historians believing he died a virgin lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Elveo In reply to LucilliaSnowfox [2018-02-15 09:54:10 +0000 UTC]

It is related by Voltaire that on his deathbed Newton had confessed he was a virgin. Voltaire claims that after speaking to the doctor who had attended Newton on his death-bed. I'm not sure if it's 100% true, but to claim otherwise would be wrong either. Personally, I don't think the fact of virginity sounds weird, funny or impossible, especially for an asexual like me. As for Newton's male companions, it is known asexuals can be romantic, thus Newton could be strongly homoromantic.

TheFireCircleYagna In reply to Elveo [2018-05-06 14:48:40 +0000 UTC]

Nikola Tesla was described by some scholars as being asexual. Leonardo da Vinci used to keep platonic gay relationships with his disciples, aparently not establishing any sexual intercourse with them.

It seems to exist a pattern that connects the concept of "genius" with "asexuality"; the more elevated is a person's mind, the weakest is the urge to have sexual activity.

adiisp In reply to TheFireCircleYagna [2018-05-24 13:12:11 +0000 UTC]

Incorrect. The urge is *stronger* when your mind is elevated, but you also become more realistic and realize that not just anybody can fully balance you out... you search for that perfect one. Platonic is a misunderstood concept - didn't Plato originally write about soulmates separated by Zeus because he was scared of their power? (Zeus is the bad guy here, not the Soulmates...)
The dilemma "to f**k or not to f**k the disciples" is an old one, and hasn't gotten any better recently; but the pattern I would like you to see is how whenever the guru accidentally f**ks the disciple, the respective institution loses its power and becomes dead-set on banishing the individuals who acted out of their own truth (to control the "news" getting out). That truth may not be eternal love, it could just be loneliness... but for some it IS love, and it is only masked by their respective role-playing. Personally that's why I don't do the guru system, because nobody should be allowed to replace your Soulmate in teaching/guiding you. "Not establishing sexual intercourse" doesn't mean they can't f**k your mind up at the same time, in effect demonizing your Soulmate in your mind. OR, if the formal teacher somehow finds his Soulmate among the disciples, what then? He cannot act because of having to serve an institution. Nah... who needs that sh*t.

Yeah true

Elveo In reply to TheFireCircleYagna [2018-05-09 04:00:21 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. Some great people in history were asexual + homoromantic so they loved persons of the same sex, but didn't necessarily had sexual intimacy because of reasons, so love was enough for them. Everybody should remember asexual people also belong to lgbt. From what I know Tesla, like Newton believed that preserving purity of body and transforming the sexual energy into their passion for science and knowledge (or it can be art, creativity, whatever) will make them strong and powerful. This is what ancient practice of vedic yoga also says, so many yogis managed to stay chaste in order to strengthen their siddhi (powers). In the same way the members of mystic occult had to remain virgin if they wanted to retain their extraordinary skills and talents.

adiisp In reply to Elveo [2018-05-24 13:47:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeap, you're misrepresenting the issue here. That's not what "purity" means. Purity is when you don't use love/sex as a stepping stone to great power. Of course gay people, just like straight people, are not attracted to *everyone* from the same category... that's why the "platonic" relationships in the community (which involve the awareness of one's true soulmate, in accordance with Plato's writing about Zeus separating them, etc). That means, you can only be true Platonic friends with someone when you don't want a different relationship from them; and you can only do so while you are balanced in your heart (which comes from soulmate).

Asian Buddhist monks are my thing, big time. I think they would disagree with you since they're not seeking those powers for themselves, like Western people do. They would say it's God's power? That means: God=Soulmate Love in the ancient language. Aka True Love. "I'm in love with the shape of you" is a deeper spiritual issue than it sounds, therefore. Or "Talking bodies, you got a Perfect One" (the Great Perfection means one is perfect in the eyes of one's soulmate, it's not something you "work for by remaining chaste").

I'm not LGBT, but I know a lot of people would see me as asexual due to not having access to what I practice. So that's why I have to disagree. The idea of "virgin powers" is a hoax supported by patriarchy. The powers are not in your body, LOL... while access to your LIGHTbody comes through your Soulmate (mate as in mating). As said, Virgins are Women-Who-Act-Masculine, it has no connection with their bodies being "chaste" since sex comes in soooo many forms. Because I really like your art I wish to send you the lyrics of a song, which highlights this ancient hoax I hope you will no longer support...

"Two Fux" (Adam Lambert)

I only trust my tarot cards
Pink flamingos in my yard
People think that I'm from Mars
Whatever
Only smoke that holy green
High above the big machine
Not attached to anything
Whatever...

I got that magic you call ADD
Rep for them aliens different like me

If you think that what I do and how I live's too much
I don't really really give two fux
If you think that what I say and what I give ain't love
I don't really really give two fux
Here, right here, right here
Namaste right here, right here, right here
Ooh ooh ooh

In the center of a crowded room
I might as well be on the moon (Yeah, yeah)
Searching for that one or two
Who get it (Oh, yeah)
You see me talking to myself
Cause no one gets me like myself
I've been this way since I was twelve
I get it

I got that magic you call OCD
Rep for them aliens different like me

If you think that what I do and how I live's too much
I don't really really give two fux
If you think that what I say and what I give ain't love
I don't really really give two fux
Here, right here, right here
Namaste right here, right here, right here
Ooh ooh ooh

One shot for my enemies
In the end it ain't that deep (It ain't that deep, girl)
Imma get my inner peace
In leather (Ow!)

If you think that what I do and how I live's too much (How I live)
I don't really really give two fux (I don't give two fux)
If you think that what I say and what I give ain't love (I don't give, I don't give, I don't give, oh yeah)
I don't really really give two fux (I don't give two fux, oh oh oh oh)
Here, right here, right here
Namaste right here, right here, right here (I don't give, I don't give, I don't give two fux)

Guys, no... Replying to TheFireCircleYagna and Elveo - there is a great misunderstanding here about "genius linked with asexuality" and thus making them stronger and more powerful. That's a load of historical bull (as all "mystical and occult" stuff is... once you know the true secret there's nothing occult  about it, so don't let people fool you with that nonsense). The occult is a RACIST agenda, not Vedic. Veda means "to see". Yoga is about reaching your Soulmate/Spiritual Sex - Christians know this as "sex with angels" which was forbidden etc. Only forbidden because of racist agendas!

Here is how genius really works: if the person's mind is "so elevated" it seems as though they have no equal partner. It's not that they don't feel the sexual urges (they do! even more than others!), but some are already so realistic that they know nobody of flesh-and-blood can balance them out completely. Except their Soulmate can (thus saving us all from the madness). Many poets wrote about the search for that person; but when they denied the existence of such a person they became racist and oppressive, because the depression of their denial affects the brain's search for pleasure.

Homosocialism and homoromanticism were systems used to keep the status quo of masculine domination - therefore they would have seen sex as disreputable. I know I used to think in those terms before, too ("love is  enough even if you don't have sex, why ruin the beautiful connection"), but it's wrong. And it's simply the mindset of a child, someone who is not initiated - if this child remains a child growing up, we end up with a bunch of oppressors in charge. (I am very amused by girls tagging their slash stories "EXTREMELY ADULT SITUATIONS" then writing how the Bad Guy is always thinking about raping the Hero... not adult at all, just fear of the unknown, and that Bad Guy is often a misrepresentation of their Soulmate).

Nobody forces you to have sex..... it's a big misunderstanding created by the misrepresentation of sex over time. There is no such thing as "virginity", especially for men anyway - virgins are only WOMEN who ACT like MEN (VIR-ago), not women/men who never had sex. "Tomboys", is another word. Virgin Mary was a tomboy and a LGBT ally, and the clues mention that she practiced some things that are very similar to LGBT (nuff said). But her Son Jesus did promote natural expression for LGBT who were used to demonizing sex.... think of all the trauma experienced by them, for being seen as disreputable in society.

Just because you are strongly connected with your Soulmate, doesn't mean you are asexual. It just means you're not dating people. Just look into the fact that historical people who had sex with countless partners, always wanted to "keep their best friend safe" and in effect made themselves very lonely and confused - contributing to even more of their behaviour.

Remember there is nothing wrong with your Soulmate. Just because you are different, it doesn't mean that you are "without".

I love your Mehmed/Radu artworks, I am from Bucharest, the town named after Radu himself. This is so awesome. And partly because a friend told me she sees "a beautiful dark haired woman" as the Spirit of Bucharest! Ha ha. (One more suggestion that if you don't have sex with anyone, then nothing about LGBT matters anyway... but it's something real, not imaginary and this is the key).
