One interesting question as well, I noticedΒ you use Prismacolor color pencils. Your Pencil coloring technique is actually close to what one would do with with Copic markers. Where did you learn this technique?
I might have a source on some lesser known ways to use Color Pencils if you are interested.
One technique I found, I call it "Ghost Drawing" using certain items you can draw on paper and then use color pencils to create ghostly transparent effects, or using a color pencil and drawing with force you can then color in behind it and make a totally different background shade. due to differences in surface height.Β
The most interesting thing was the one I found that depending on the Pencil wax/filler content it can resist or break down under marker effects.

Kinda just learned on my own honestly o3o;
It's just a form of burnishing / blending colors together. Though finding more colors within the same family helps the blending a lot better too!
Though the most I have used is about 3 shades together, if not I have to layer on top of another if they are two different colors to get the blend as smooth as possible.
