ugh. i don't feel like playing thsi game, but i'll tell you my six levels of neurosis.
1) When i'm at work, I can't walk out the door without poking the 100 pound sack of Vermiculite.
2) I wash my hands obsessively
3) If i wash my hair before I wash my face, I have to start all over and do it the opposite way.
4) I pull at my shirts because i feel like they're too short even when they're quite long.
5) I gag myself while brushing my teeth, just to make sure I get my tongue clean.
6) Everynight before going to sleep, i conduct the star spangled banner.

i was suckered into staying the night with my neighbor's kids while they're out of town for the weekend, even though these kids are 14 and 12. You should've heard the disappointment in his voice when i told him. (psh, total sarcasm)

Well, at least the kids aren't so young that you have to obsessively monitor them. I guess it's not much of a silver lining, but it's nice to have one, in your case, at least.
Just be glad you don't have a mental illness, or an existential crisis or something. Well, it might help distract you, but you'd be distracted by anguish and whatnot. So not really silvery. Sort of cheap brass.

because all of the "bisexual" individuals I've met in the past few years have been either too afraid to admit they're completely gay, or they just want attention/to look cool for their friends.

Yeah, I don't doubt that there are individuals like that, but there are real bisexuals. I just think that society, for various reasons, demands that someone be one or the other, and your real bisexuals end up claiming to be one or the other and only that, leaving the fringe lunatics out in the open, where most lunatics tend to end up, unfortunately.
What I'm trying to say is that what makes it cool and edgy for those you speak of, partially comes from a demand by many of both straights and gays to be one or the other, as though your orientation decides who you are. Our culture has, for the most part, assumed a strictly binary system, and I just don't think it's right.
And again, I could be totally wrong. I'm not the most exposed person in existence, but I do think I have a point, somewhere, buried in the rhetoric.
