# About me

Kaltxì, hoi, guten Tag, bonjour: In short, greetings, deviant. Welcome to the world of the Shadowmaster. Why the name? I'm rather partial to darkness, to the mysterious. Darkness is not evil, it is merely different.
Magic seems to have become my middle name. The world of enchantment, of fantasy, of the mysterious and magnificent, is one of my favorite places to be.
I am here to appreciate the wonderful world of art and to present my own creations to it. Here's hoping my own drawings and literature will be appreciated.

Want something written? My (digital) writer's quill is available...

I like creating characters based on real people. It's a habit of mine to ask my friends and family what kind of fantasy character they'd like to be. Got an interesting OC in mind? Perhaps we could create something...

(Tag a quality deviant, You’re it!) Quality doesn't mean that you have a lot of followers, or a lot of messages. It means that you’re nice to other people, and deserve to be happy. If you get this message, someone is telling you that they love you as you are, and they don’t care how much followers you have. Send this to whoever you think deserves it. it’s just good to let someone know that you love them! β™₯

well big bro, seems like I have a sollution for that one-- Join groups.

You have to practice your one-shots. it's a pain in the rear for a while, and then you just shoot them off the cuff at ease. Tell that little pesky critic to take a small holiday and rest while you write, and let him back before you write another new one. then shoo it again.
Critique your old one shot before you write a new one, that's all.

and good luck. ^^

BloodAngelsCaptain1 In reply to EonOrteaShadowmaster [2013-06-21 15:57:35 +0000 UTC]

May I offer my rebuttal to that?

PS: This is me trying to be a friend: I don't think that it was a smart idea to post that on the deviation. The reason why is because you are going to suffer a lot of backlash from the artist and his fans because the piece was submitted to a group called Anti-Na'vi (which I am a part of), so a lot of Na'vi haters/human supporters are going to see that.

If I'm going to post my rebuttal towards a particular statement, I may as well post it by the actual statement. I'm not afraid of a little backlash.

Speak.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BloodAngelsCaptain1 In reply to EonOrteaShadowmaster [2013-06-21 18:36:08 +0000 UTC]

Alright. Please understand that that was me trying to be a friend, not a criticizor (or whatever that is called).

We should gush about our marvels, because look what is has given us: space travel, the ability to heal the crippled, advanced weaponry to protect ourselves, and possible even the chance to terraform.

Being a religious person, I don't think we humans should play God. But then again, I don't see terraforming as playing God.

Yes, we do have the right to spread and manifest, because we have earned that right. Not because they are not advanced how dare they stay in our way, but because they are hostile.

I believe in something known as "Exterminatus" (it sounds a lot worse than it is). The way is goes: we expand, and if we meet new life, we try to become friends with them, and if we do, great. But if they are hostile, we either exterminate them or fight them into submission. Basically, it means that we will NOT tolerate hostility.

I am a huge fan of human/alien alliances and cross-species relationships by the way. I am not a xenophobe unless the xenos is hostile.

We do learn my friend. Learning is how we achieved the ability to travel the stars. Plus, if we unlock terraforming technology, we can prevent new worlds from becoming "husks."

Plus, they refuse to learn. What if a plague befalls their world, or their world suffers a cataclysm that only leaving would save them from. They don't have the technology to face either.

I really hope I'm not coming across as bad here.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EonOrteaShadowmaster In reply to BloodAngelsCaptain1 [2013-06-21 19:57:08 +0000 UTC]

The thing is, why are the Na'vi hostile to humans in the Ava-verse? It's because their impression of humanity is that of invaders and destroyers. They weren't "kill all humans" by default. They got along rather well with the AVTR team. That is, until the school incident and the growing expansion around Hell's Gate blew diplomatic relations to all hell.

Perhaps we should look at this from another perspective. Say sufficiently advanced aliens came to Earth, began encroaching on "our" land, even blowing up our cities if it suited them, all to get to the resources. That would turn us hostile, would it not?

There is a third option to that "Exterminatus" theory, if the hostile species is uncompromisingly and unchangingly hostile: withdraw. It'll spare everybody a whole lot of time, effort and misery. Our pride might be hurt a tad, but everything else will be spared.

Last of all, large-scale terraforming does not appear to be within humanity's capabilities during the events of the film. And even if it were, terraforming is not capable of creating resources where there are none.

Do not be concerned, you are not coming across as nasty in any way. In fact, I commend the level of politeness you display during our conversations. It's quite refreshing when compared to some people's attitudes online...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BloodAngelsCaptain1 In reply to EonOrteaShadowmaster [2013-07-02 06:12:06 +0000 UTC]

Yes, they got along with traitors and cut throats who were also hostile, which honestly doesn't help their case in my opinion.

Yes, but what if they were being like the soldiers were and offering us new tech and other items that could benefit us in the long run? I'm sure that we wouldn't be closed-minded like the Na'vi were. Now if they attacked without reason, then that would be a whole different story.

But what if we can't afford to just leave like in Avatar? Plus, if we let one example of hostility slide, other possible sentient life learned of this, they might take advantage of this and choose hostility as well. We need to show that we will NOT, under any circumstances, tolerate hostility, to avoid future hostility.

I am not a war monger by the way. I'm just not anti-war.

How do we know that terraforming wasn't possible? Or, to make matters worse, what if the unobtainium held the key to terraforming? That would be devastating.

Thank you my friend. Sorry about the delayed response. By the way: Happy 4th

Do you dislike Americans?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EonOrteaShadowmaster In reply to BloodAngelsCaptain1 [2013-07-02 11:56:21 +0000 UTC]

What I meant was, the Omaticaya Clan and the AVTR team got along well before the incidents that blew everything to bits. And yes, during the war, the Na'vi got along with those you designate as "traitors" (all they betrayed was the RDA company, by the by). Jake & co. saw how wrong it was what the RDA was doing to the Omaticaya and the other clans, prompting them to actively start fighting for Pandora's preservation. Of course they'd get along with the Na'vi.

The RDA did offer the Na'vi technology, which said natives had no interest in. Humanity's present culture is already geared towards technological advancement, while that of the Na'vi does not appear to be so. So what if the invading aliens offered us something we simply had no interest in? Is that an excuse for war?

As far as "exterminatus" is concerned, you have to look at it the other way, as well. If humanity gets the reputation of opting into hostility rather than being tactful and well-willing every time, then we will encounter hostility more frequently. Given our reputation, after all, alien civilisations will be more likely to feel that they have no choice. Use of violence might gain you some respect with the military-minded, but it will also lose you tremendous amounts of goodwill. Besides, there is no need for us to establish ourselves as the dominant species of the universe. Granted, if it is a matter of survival, then violence may be used, but only if all other options have been completely exhausted.

I do not dislike Americans, not as such. I am an American myself, in part. However, I grew out of patriotism long ago. I am not "loyal" to any nation. As my signature states, I am a citizen of the world.
