I've seen a few images of the medicine seller/kusuriuri while browsing the internetz a long time ago thinking who the heck is this guy, but never got a chance to look it up. It wasn't until recently I saw someone do a crossover with Okami that I've finally decided to look it up XD;;

Trippy art is trippy with the colors but omgaaaaaawd *_*
Have you seen the series that preceded Mononoke? Where Kusuriuri first appeared in the last few episodes of Ayakashi? lmao he had "interesting" picture books in that pack of his~ *shot*

I actually didn't think much of it until ~Rgveta (one of my favorite Tegaki artists) posted some fanart that really piqued my interest in Kusuriuri as a character...but it wasn't until the AMV that I finally decided to watch it. (~Rgveta actually had a whole lot more Mononoke fanart but he/she decided to take them down because their fanart was being used for graphics for LJ and he/she didn't approve of it, orz)

But no, I haven't seen Ayakashi. I actually can't find the series since there's two series called Ayakashi and I keep finding episodes for the one that isn't what I'm looking for. But I've started the manga for Mononoke! Its a prequel of how the Medicine Seller meets Kayo in the second arc of the Mononoke anime series. (And yeah...he had very very "interesting" picture books, lmao.)

But seriously, I kinda ship Kusuriuri and Amaterasu together...even though I've never played Okami before, lol. It actually seems kinda interesting. xD; If you find fic of these two together, tell meee!

The full name is Ayakashi: Japanese Horror Stories. Kusuriuri appears in the last episodes (9-11) in the arc Bakeneko. Pfft those were the only episodes I saw just because he was in them XD;; ) I've seen the first few pages of the manga, so this arc is basically about that.

Man, I kinda wish they did more for Mononoke--I can't get enough of the Medicine Seller. xD (Plus, I'm freaking curious about Kusuriuri's background history and future endeavors, ahhh.) But that'd probably ruin the mystery factor that makes him so fascinating in the first place, dangit. T__T

I was also kinda surprised when I watched his first appearance in Ayakashi. He was way more emotionally receptive of the bakeneko than he was with the other mononoke in "Mononoke" and he showed weakness...which isn't a bad thing--it was just surprising. I guess, since it was his first appearance, I expected him to be a bit more ~mysterious~ and aloof to the things around him. (LOL'ing at the mention of the books though, lmao. Oh you. xD)

Eee, definitely will!! Btw, does Amaterasu have a set "human look?" Or can I just make it up while incorporating wolf!Amaterasu's features?

Ahaha yay! You've pinpointed my thoughts exactly XD Ahaha if you ever get a chance to watch the series a second time, you find things that you've totally miss during the first round since you get a better understanding to what's going on XD;;; Oh shiii-

Amaterasu doesn't have a set human look since she (going with the female interpretation here) only appears as a wolf throughout the game. So you can imagine how she will look like in any form you'd like (such as a male XD) >D The only distinction that Ammy (nickname from the game) has are the red markings, white hair, her (default mirror) weapon, and the ability to manipulate nature using a paint brush: basic design -->[link]
There are also some other good ref pics in google which also has some representations of Ammy in human form (which are mainly female representations)by other artists.
But other than that, go for it! Ahaha have fun with Amaterasu's design~ 8D

Oh dear gawd, so I found out that they dubbed the Ayakashi series in English, and out of curiosity I decided to hunt down the dub in order to listen how Kusuriuri would sound like.... Asdglcgbsflska he sounds a little younger for his "age" and it just changed my perception of him...a little orz... It's like he sounds a bit more playful/teasing towards the others too. (Maybe it's just me? >_< )Adsgkdsgbk *listens to his original VA instead*
