No, I think it's highly unlikely. Asteroids colliding is always a possibility, but it is unlikely and there's no scientific reason anyone should have been able to predict it. As for anomalous solar activity, that is highly unlikely to affect life on earth. The sun is a very stable system overall, and even when it has flares and eruptions, our magnetic field protects us from the deadly radiation. I'm not concerned at all about 2012. Oh, and if an asteroid does hit us and wipe out all life on earth... we won't even have a chance to be upset about it. We'll just all be gone. So no point in worrying about it.
