Outside of DevART, I'm a great fan of Half Life and Mass Effect series of games, along with few others, that's essentially how I found DevART.

Before reading RoU, you must read my other story, or actually a story by a friend, which RoU is based on. Also RoU takes place quite a while after Same Side so there's a lot that's happened and a lot of plot bunnies and things in between.

This is a crossover of Stargate: Atlantis and the Transformers live action movies. It ignores the third movie and the plot holes of the second...the Twins will be appearing, but not as annoying as they were in the movies. And Bee will get a relationship with Arcee like I always wanted...

I'm hoping sometime early this year; I was very busy with some other writing projects, but I managed to finish those up except for some final edits. I'm already starting to figure out how to get the characters to where I need them; once I have the next set of scenes figured out I'll get it done!

Your characters are all well defined, their personalities developed. Wikus also appears very canon-like, still having trouble being at peace with what happened, and all.

Scenes and happenings could be a bit more clearly defined, for example when Black Jack was running, and Julius had to stop him, I had trouble imagining the perspective, from where to where was Jack going and from where did Julius and his friend observe all that from.

I can't wait for more chapters. Can I apply for beta-reader?

Well, everybody is not always the most useful answer, but I'll take it!

I'm trying to think about how Wikus behaved in the movie to try and get a feel for what he'll do in various situations. I liked a lot of what other folks did for fanfics, and tried to incorporate some ideas there.

That scene you mentioned was a hard one for me to picture, I confess. Trying to imagine how things look in District 10 can be a bit of a challenge since all we ever saw that idealized brochure. I'll keep that in mind though.

It's funny you should ask, as I've just started writing this again, and have the first half of Chapter 8 written. Not sure how to actually share it here without posting it though....

I was kidding about the "beta-reader", though if you're serious, you can shoot it over to me via "Note", which appears to be DeviantArt's equivalent of Personal Message.

As far as we've figured, District 10 is just a huge grid of tents.
I just watched the movie again yesterday, man again I ended up in awe.

Anyway, just occured to me that, since most aliens have daily jobs and something to do, how are they going to do it now that they're 240 km away in D10? Hmm.

In any case, keep up the good work!

I haven't watched the movie in a while; I have far too much to do to spend time watching movies I've already seen several times again unless I really need to. I've tried to imagine what the Poleepkwa would do to the tents if given time and their own proclivities. Which is why I imagine they would quickly transform it into a maze of sorts with canopies and the like interleaving the tents.

I suspect that the jobs would have to change, and that they would bring the rudiments of production and disposal on site in District 10. I think I will make mention of this as I keep writing Chapter 8. I have Fr. Pienaar bringing the second week of supplies to the priests here and so that gives me a chance to describe what the gates into District 10 and the surrounding area look like.

I would have written more, but we have a showing at our house today so I've been doing a lot of cleaning instead.
