Thanks for the fav! I know your journal entry is old and I hope you are out of your rut! But if you still feel like that what I do is i look at other artists work.

Thank you for the favorite
In regards to your older journal entry above, I'd go for a good half day or full of exploration somewhere with a type of photography in mind, eg architecture, Landscapes, Water scapes, People, animals... etc.. when you go, go without your camera... things that you notice, eg lines leading your eyes to something else, the way the light shows a color at a certain time of day, paths that lead to another beautiful subject in the distance, animals that that flock at a certain place or eat at a certain point... just things that you might say to yourself... hey i wish i had my camera to capture that... I even think about what season Im in and then go about looking for and capturing things that i could see in a blog about what demonstrates that season around where i live, colors, trees, activities, festivals.. list is endless
Make a mental note of some things... focus on one of those subjects that you noticed more of and plan a half day or more to try and capture it in a way you'd imagine seeing it on your wall or in a gallery where the composition would get your attention, almost looking at it in the 3rd person. I often lay spaced out on my bed with my eyes closed imagining zooming in and out focused on certain subjects and work out which lenses, tripod or filters will help in capturing that mental picture.
Sharing the beauty of this world through your eyes/composition, is what is so fulfilling i feel
Cropping and post processing after, if necessary, is some of the fun in helping to convey what you've experienced and seen.
Just remember to always have patience, if you dont take shots one outing... thats always ok Always good to have a plan before you go, just make sure the plan isnt to broad in that its just to take photos...
Hope that makes some sense

Wow thank you!
I have been in a bad photography periode, but in last week actually I wanted to go out at take pictures.
I often look at my surroundings when I'm going somewhere (without a camera) and think "that would make a great picture", so I know that feeling.
The problem is just that forget it or don't have the time, so it could be, like you say, that I should take my time and do go it

You are welcome
I guess sometimes i take quick snaps on my phone too, can serve as a reminder, but most of the time just having a theme to go out and capture generally works well .
I myself have been wanting to try the milky way night exposures... on my to do list
Always a wonderful way to express our creative side, photography, and helps de stress, i find
