It's not too hard, actually. My current method is to just use a reddish brown pencil for the blood markings and make scribbly-like movements with the edge of the led (as apposed to the point). It really is a lot simpler to do than it sounds in an explanation. I almost feel like having the right colour does half the work for you; you just have to play around with it. (:

Hmm, that MAY be so in some cases; but in strong lighting, and with horses with very shiny coats, there can be bright highlights in real life too. Personally, I think it is a really good thing that you add strong highlights because it is easier to not add any, and harder TO add them. Anyway, your art is amazing and I can't wait to see more! Ps. It's nice to meet someone else in HARPG who is about my age (I'm 15). Oh yeah, and you're very welcome.
