It was beautifully rendered and made my heart ache. I loved Bethany, and I am playing the game for the first time - managed to make her a Grey Warden and save her, but the letter she sent really really had me upset and wondering if I'd done the right thing. So it really hit home. Go youuu~ <3

Thank you very much for letting me know! It's good to hear my work managed to stir all these emotions! Bethany happens to be my favorite companion in DA2 and choosing whether to take her on the Deep Roads expedition and then make her a Warden is definitely a tough one. I have to admit in many of my playthroughs I tend to leave her in Kirkwall now, since that path seems to give her a (slightly) happier life, but becoming a Warden is something I think she would end up being proud of for the sake of her family.

She is happy at the Circle? :S I heard that's what becomes of her. I might have to do that in my next playthrough. Did you rip the files from the game yourself? I've been wanting to rip models from SWTOR to make some animations with (I could model them but I'm busy and lazy ), but I can't seem to find a good guy or way to unpack the stuff.

Well, her letter when Bethany is at the Circle makes me think she is happier there than with the Wardens, but it is clear life in the Kirkwall gallows is not so nice... I think you should really give the Circle path a try in your next playthrough. And if you have the "Legacy" and "Mark of the Assassin" DLCs don't forget to take Bethany with you on those adventures!

Yes, I did the extraction of the models from the game files at my end! Unfortunately, I can't help with extraction from SWTOR. While I'd be glad to give you some tips/directions, I really have no clue about the tools and process one should follow to extract what is needed from the SWTOR files and then port the models into some usable format. Each game engine has its own tools and process to get the job done and I'm afraid I merely "specialized" into those for DAO/DA2.

I think I've got the DLC! I'll have to check, I think the version of the game I bought had the dlc with it. Will have to check. Usually I never play mage type characters, though I was thinking of giving it a try with my next playthrough... Though I don't want Beth to die at the start and a friend has described Carver to me as "literally the worst".

And no prob about that! I'll try to tackle the SWTOR files and see how I go

That would be very nice if you have both DLCs included with your version of DA2. I found both Legacy and Mark of the Assassin pretty much fun to play! Legacy is really designed around having Hawke's sibling along, so bringing Bethany with you on that adventure is really a must!

Admittedly, I don't mind playing as a mage, but I have only one single playthrough in DA2 where my Hawke is a mage because I hate to lose Bethany. Carver is not entirely bad, but he is the broody, whiny brother afraid of living in Hawke's shadow, nothing like Bethany. I'd be happy if both siblings could be saved, but if I can save only one then that's Beth.

Hrm. Maybe I haven't got them. NEXT PAYCHECK. I'll go back to one of my older Act 1 saved maybe and pick up from there.

Omg, there's this one bit in Act two when someone, I think Varric, asks Hawke why he's doing what he is, and you have the option to answer "For my family", and it makes me so sad because you seem to be spending most of the game losing family in on a way or another T_T I almost feel like it was a little bit of a copout to have a timeskip right after Bethany's departure. I would've liked to see Hawke go through it, and companion reactions and stuff.

Oh, well next time then! And if you find yourself in need of choosing whether to get either Legacy or Mark of the Assassin, I'd suggest to go for Legacy due to its Hawke-family related content!

That's sadly so true: with each step Hawke seems to be losing his/her family along the way... And I agree with you 100% about wishing that we got the chance to see Hawke/companion reactions at Bethany's departure.

T_______T dude... I just played through the bit... with Hawke's mum....

then I realised I'd missed Fenris' Questioning Beliefs because his rivalry wasn't high enough, so I had to go back to a previous save... then I had to do the quest with Hawke's mum again...

Oh man... I'm dying. I'm dying. My heart, man. BRB, going to go make a "LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE!!"-esque video aimed at Bioware >___>

Ouch... Yet another piece of Hawke's family lost! Playing that quest once per playthrough is already bad enough, having to endure it twice in a row can really ruin your day...

For all of Leandra's faults I always thought that her fate in "All That Remains" is particularly cruel, regardless of whether one likes or dislikes Leandra...

And the idea of that video is really not bad, you know?
