Saturday, of course... I'm'a grab a Motel 6 for the night because the bike ride up there is going to be a *TOTAL BITCH* and I'll be totally exhausted. I'm'a probably make it there around 10 or 11, then grab a room, rest about an hour, then haul my ass down to the airshow. I just hope I won't be too sore to walk around there...

Yep indeed. Dude I spent like $10 on gas this way, and going to end up spending like $5 on the gas back (all things averaged). Can't beat like 70MPG on the highway!

Only thing is it's a huge tradeoff, the ride is like pure pain and ache, and I made almost the whole trip in the slow lane... hard to keep track of speed when the speedometer is off by a linear gradient (i.e. 10 on speedo = 9 actual, then 15 = 13, 25=22, 40=36, 55=49, 65=55, 75=63, onward). It was an interesting trip

Awwh. Hell. Yes. Well, I mean, I can't stand around them awkwardly for hours, but I'll be there for a while and repeatedly, I'm sure. Depending on what accommodations I figure out, I might be carrying a backpack and my laptop bag and my riding jacket... (optimally not so much, but meh, I don't have a car to stick it all in!)

Hotel's like literally half a mile from the airshow from the looks of things, I passed the "Airshow ->" sign coming in and saw the electronic "Air show ahead!" sign from the driveway... check-out's at 11 and depending on how late I stay up tonight doing homework (the only place I won't be distracted!), I might be there before or around then... definitely won't be there for opening though, that's just too long to stick around at an airshow So I'm aiming for between 10 and 11...

Yeeeeees. Same shit, different title. Plus the ANG is the only real option I'd actually been considering... I already know the AF is damn near all done with F-16s. Only hope I'd really have is with ANG...

No no... I've got a friend at the ANG base here already. He isn't even encouraging me - in fact, quite the opposite. Severe internal politics, everyone getting kicked out, etc... no chance in a frozen Hell of ever getting accepted there, no matter how good at XYZ I am. All I really want is a weekly tour of the place, lol

Looks pretty slick! I saw an R/C F-16 out at a model air field a few months ago... first time I was out there and the "jet guys" ended up showing up. It was hyoog, and had a jet engine and everything. Was just about that big too! =o

Looking at some of my F-16 posters, I sort of got to thinking, maybe I could, you know, many years down the line, actually build a flyable wood 1:1 scale F-16... and I would, too! Thinking about it, it's really not all that insane... (you know, "that" insane)... probably using some sort of electric motor instead of a jet or gas engine... but being wood would certainly help a lot with the weight thing! Yeah, we're talking "twinkle in my eye for many years later" here, but still. Everything's possible with enough planning

Booooring as usual. I think while I was gone, the average IQ of the city dropped about 10-20 points and had a hard time recovering. We had the dumbest people bringing in their computers with the dumbest issues, and the dumbest possible people on the road to and from work. Please, please, if you appreciate having smart people around you... don't come to Fresno.

Also, still haven't gotten that LaserDisc player working. Bah...

Doing great! After all these years, my old PS2 is still working.

My dad got it out of storage and we bought another copy of Ace Combat 04 (don't know what happened to the old one). I beat it in just 3 hours.

And yes, I did fly the F-16. But I still prefer the F-15E Strike Eagle and F-22A Raptor.

And to think I've never even worn a flight suit. Furthering that, I've never actually, well, met the same pilot twice. Talked with a few on various spot (and drooling/babbling/otherwise going gaga) occasions, but never had an opportunity to see the same guy twice. Only ever touched an F-16 once on one incredible weekend whose photo still hangs on my wall today...
