Do you dye the yarn you spin yourself? Just out of curiosity where you find such beautiful and unique colors in your yarn works.Β

Thank you for the kind comments but no I am not a fibre dyer. Most of the yarns I have showcased here are from fibres sourced from various etsy shops. With the exception of the gradient pure silks, that is a lady who has a shop at Hilltopcloud.com. If you want to know the source of any particular fibre I've spun point it out and I will happily point you at the dyer and spread the love!

When you started crocheting, did you decrease when you weren't aware you were? I'm just starting crochet and I have an issue where each row gets smaller and smaller, what am I doing wrong?
And when you crochet if you wrap the yarn the wrong way on the hook, why is that a disaster?

In a word, yes. Its difficult to know exactly what the issue you are having is, as it may be several things. Personally I wasn't seeingΒ the last stitch in the row as one I needed to work into, often because it was a turning chain and my brain wasn't seeing it like the lovely v at the top of the other stitches. This issue being complicated by some patterns counting the turning chain as a stitch, and others don't. And some patterns expect you to know which of those two they want you to do without telling you. Some want you to work into the stitch your starting chain comes out of, others don't, and again are not always explicit about which it is. I am working on a pattern that has switched between the two at different times. It is something that comes with practice. My advice is to fond a video on youtube that's very clear and you can seeΒ how to count your stitches. Are you a member of ravelry.com? Their forums are great for helping you figure things out.Β
Honestly, I have no clue on this one. Personally I would assume that as long as you wrap consistently in the same direction there is no 'right' direction, but it will affect how your stitches look.Β
