Do you mean like have a bunch of sharp and curvy shapes. And where they overlap, the color changes?

The modern art-ish backrounds are the backrounds found in 3 cartoons, terrytoonsβ βflebusβ [link] , warner brosβ βnow hear thisβ [link] , & walt disneyβs βjack & old macβ [link] . I showed you these cartoons just as examples.
And have you read βcartoon modern:style and design in 1950s animationβ by amid amidi? [link] , because the backrounds of any cartoons in this book are what Iβm talking about!
The modern art-ish backrounds are also in 2 of thweattedβs arts, [link] & [link] , and in your 2 arts, [link] (This one has a pink oval) & [link] (This one has a brown curvy square).
The pink oval and the brown curvy square are the modern art-ish backrounds.

What I do to try to get rolling again is have art jams with my younger siblings. We take turns picking characters we're familiar with that belong to a decided theme or franchise. When we're done, we show each other our drawings.
You don't even have to do it with people that draw, just anyone that likes cartoons.
