I've been wanting to get into watercolours too!  That and gouache.  I've been pretty good all and all.  I went back to school to study Chinese Medicine, but I still do art part time, I've been doing sci-fi stuff lately. For myself  I've been working on creating a new style that's far more forgiving and better for sketching.  I'm planning on doing web-comics in my free time, I just need to work out a speedier eye-popping style.

We should do a sketch exchange or something!

That's awesome! I'm working on a similar personal project at the moment. And yeah, we should totally do some sort of sketch exchange. I never really participated in the drills and stuff when I was still active on Polykarbon. So it'd be interesting. B)

Well, there are things I want to specialize in, and things that make money.  (always!!!)  I love herbal medicine above all, but acupuncture tends to be better at paying the bills, so I may make my specialty acupuncture and pain management.

I will be going on vaca in the next two weeks, but let's do a sketch thing aug/sept.

Np, it's been a little crazy. Right now I work a regular 9-5, then I rush home to work on illustration stuff. I feel like the contest has help me to kick my butt into gear. I feel a lot more dedication and a greater sense of direction. Is for illustration jobs, I was hoping they would just fall into my lap, but it's been more small stuff so far. It's just plug and play for me, trying to get things together as fast as I can. How about you? How's sunny California?

That's great! That's how I used it, too.

Yeah, really gotta work and network, getting jobs can be tough to start with, but the more you do, the more people learn about you, so it gets easier.

Doing great, coming close to wrapping a 6 month long project, have some irons in the fire to move onto next, but nothing super concrete. I'm starting to teach art as well, finding I have a passion for it. Also pushing the fine art/original work sales, so that's fun to have going. All in all things are going good. Thanks!

If you need advice on where to take your work, who to show it to, etc. please feel free to ask.

Teaching huh? That really good, I bet you learn just as much from your students as they learn from you, if not more. I can think of nothing better!

Yes and no! I have no more steady paycheck, so it's sort of like loosing my job... but it's exciting because I'm interested in doing something new! Two edged sword.
