I've been considering raising the base prices to:
Sketch [$10]
Portrait [$20]
Flat-shaded character [$30]
The Works [$50]
Considering that I put in an average of about 9 workhours into The Works quality paintings I feel that's a fair price. I haven't implemented this price hike yet though and I'm not exactly overflowing with commission requests as-is so I'm taking a 'wait and see' approach for now.
So if you want these low prices: Get in the queue while it's still open.

If the request is simple and involves a single character who already has art and you don't require a complex background/posing then it's more likely I'll accept the request.
How interesting/unique the character is also factors in both ways.
