As of today, I am now 23 years old... 
To be honest for some reason I'm not all that hyped today. I know it's a special day and all that jazz but for some reason I can't seem to get excited for anything right now. Must be the gloomy weather around here or something.
I tried to drum up a list of things I wanted for my birthday throughout the month but all I could come up with was four things. And being the lazy idiot I was I didn't bother to give the list to anyone.
I'm not excited but I'm not depressed either. You ever get that way sometimes?

Everyone who was born before the end of 2012 should all pretend the apocalypse actually happened in December. Like we should all have our war stories and pretend to be veterans and tell our kids and grandkids stories about when we defeated the zombies. And we should write about it in our history textbooks and say that people who deny that it ever happened just had their minds warped by the aliens.

Just made the most painful decision in my life so far. Over the past few weeks I've been noticing that my dog, Lazarus hadn't been feeling well over the past few weeks. He hadn't been eating his food lately and my family and I dismissed it as him being the picky eater as he was. His body had gone straight from fat and healthy to skinny and bloated over the course of his last grooming.
His condition was made worse last night, when he was having trouble climbing on my brother's bed. My brother tried to help him up and my dog ended up biting his face in the process. It wasn't a serious injury but this sudden change in behavior was something completely out of character for Lazarus.
We took Lazarus to the vet today at 5:26 PM to see what was wrong with him. Needless to say the results weren't good. Turns out that poor Lazarus was in an awful lot of pain. In the end we were presented with few options. We all decided to end Lazarus's suffering rather than prolong it.
I said my goodbyes to not only a family pet but to an ever faithful friend today. And although it was not easy I know in my heart it was the right thing to do. This is a fact of life we must all come to expect one day. Though I am sad for my loss I am reminded of a quote from from one of my favorite films;
"End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it. White shores... and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise."
I may feel like crap now, but I take comfort in the fact that my dog is with god now. I'll see my Lazarus again someday but until that day comes I will live out the rest of my life the best I can. For now I'll have to let my mourning run it's course.

My cat had to be put down for similar reasons, so i know how you feel... Dogs are so much easier to get attatched to though, so i hope you're okay

Hi, it's me again. Remember when I said I would recommend another movie I thought you might like? There's this movie I saw with my dad a few years ago when it was still out in theaters. Amazingly enough, it came out on my dad's birthday. I had already heard about the movie months ahead of time and was extremely excited to see it on the big screen. Apparently the movie was based off of an 11 minute animated short film under the same name and was nominated for an Academy Award for best short film in 2005.
After months of waiting I brought my brother, dad, and my step mom to see the movie with me and let me tell you... Our minds were blown.
Now I don't know if you heard of this movie or not so take a look at the trailer and let me know if it catches your interest.
