Funny thing about Pinkie Pie's pet, if you study Gummy anatomy, you'd realize that he isn't an alligator at all, but a Crocodile. Alligators have rounded snouts, while crocodiles like Gummy have snouts that end in a point, hears a link to a pic showing a side by side so you can see what I mean: [link]
