Hey there, just been looking at your work with the coloured ice cubes. I'm doing something very similar and wondered what the process you used for applying the food colouring?

Hi. I didn't do anything special. I just made coloured water with food colouring and then froze it (I froze it in single cubes called pesto cubes which are one ounce containers sometimes used for baby food). I used the liquid food colouring you get from the grocer. I think because it was liquid it froze at a different rate than the water which gave the weird patterns. Perhaps a more concentrated food colouring gel might make the water and colour freeze more evenly. Good luck with your work. I'll have to check it out!

ah thanks so much! sounds really interesting, i'd already done it before i stumbled across your images! mine tended to be rather even but love the patterns you managed to create! lots of experimenting to now be done!

Hey there Lutz! I noticed your people photography I'm enjoying the change and it seems to be coming along nicely! Unfortunately I still haven't found much time for photography. I'm having another baby in August so my time is getting eaten up preparing for the arrival. I'm hoping to start shooting again in the next month or so as I'm really missing my still life
