And it's pretty but it's SERIOUSLY FUCKING CREEPING
and it plays for two minutes before shutting off completely, so I wander out of bed seriously expecting some rise of the guardians esque shit to happen

Speaking of Pitch, he was excellent in this movie! With his relationship to Man in the Moon, I had a theory he used to be a guardian himself to give children nightmares to teach them how to be brave or something along those lines but became corrupted with power in the dark ages

It would make sense. In the dark ages, fear was used to protect children; to keep the from wandering too far into the dark, away from their families.

It would, but after researching on the books the movie is based on (( which takes place 300 years after the plot of the books )) That is not the case

hAH yeah that was a major plothole, but it WAS a movie directed towards kids. You can't focus entirely on details and kind of have to keep the action going on.
