Haha, absolutely not. My kodak was one of my first cameras (and i broke awhile ago, oops!) and the Canon 40D i borrowed from a friend (though i wish it were mine!!)*Sigh* Just the olympus now
Do you mind if I ask what camera you use or ask if you have any reccomendations? Im interested in getting a new one with more features (my olympus is very limited) and am not sure wheres the best place to start looking!

Same here I had an Olympus E420 but only used for about a year and a half. It was great but it lacked the built in image stabilizer for the lenses. I now have a 15.1 MP Canon Rebel T1i EOS 500D and a standard lens and I am very happy with it. I've always had a Canon since the first time I picked up a film camera (save for Kodak point & shoot, Olympus E420, and an Olympus point and shoot). So I'm a little biased towards Canon plus I haven't really used anything else.

For a blue collar budget I recommend the Canon Rebel series. Mid range prices for a bundle body and lens. Plus extra lenses are pretty midrange prices too ($100-$300CDN). The camera has the versatility of the more expensive counterparts. I find the camera and accessories (lenses) far lighter then the higher end D series. Plus mine has some auto options so I can just pull it out and take a shot when timing is everything. With that said I can still switch to manual and control every aspect of my shots. Plus built in flash - though I hate flash lighting! I would prefer natural light.

My camera was approx $850 CDN including extended service and warranty. If however, you have a nice chunk of change, definitely go for the higher end D series. That's like 2K for the body and if your lucky you might get a lens with it. But no built in flash. Oh mine also does 1080 P videos and takes SD memory (so cheap these days. My Olympus took CF cards, expensive if you want fast speed.

Anyways hope that helps Do some research on google and find the camera that says "you." After all the camera is an extension of what you see and feel.

You are absolutely awesome!! Thank you bunches! I will have to do some more research, but I just might look into some of those Canons-I loved the feel of my friends. Ive never had the extra lenses, etc but am definitely looking to move into a camera past the point and shoot variety but still capable of being carried around easily (like you said, versatile! Those Canons are sounding better and better!) Ill probably have to do some more research and playing around with shutter and aperature things too because I am really inexperienced with that also!
And daaaang, you sound pro!! How long have you been shooting? I love your last sentence--photography really is an expression of who you are! Once again, thank you so much!! ^^

No I'm no pro. Just an amature... nature photography mostly. I did some weddings and events in the past and tried to move to models, but my first was a bad experience. I've been doing photography - oh roughly 12+ years but only started taking it seriously as my expression of art for 2-3 years now.
