I just want you to know that I really love all of your drawings of stuff relating to the 30 Years War (you seem to be incredibly knowledgeable about it), and I would be very happy if you were willing to contribute any of them to the group galleries. You have lots of amazing content.

I'm extremely curious as to where you get your information on the Balts. More specifically, the Baltic Crusades and the equipment used by the Balts during that time. As well as the various Baltic tribes. I haven't had a lot of luck in finding information on the topic.

Thank for all the favourites.
My main sources of information for Balts' history are secondary sources (history books) and sometimes even actual primary sources (like a critical edition of the "Heinrici Chronicon Livoniae"). I always quote this material at the very beginning of each drawing description, so you just check out those. I tend to use material published in italian, which is really few, with the noticeable exception of the aforementioned critical edition of the Chronicle (one the most recent edition published, apparently) and of course, material published in English. Eric Christiansen's "The Northern Crusades" is a great introduction to the subject and William Urban different publications are also a great reading.Β
The equipment is a different story tough. While the most generic and general information - i.e. how the war was waged, technological difference between west and east - can still be found and studied in the books above, it's far harder to find out visual content. Visual sources of the era are few and in between, so for the most one has to rely on archeology and more often then not a bit of approximation - i.e. considering the main influences and external contact of a given area: russians, lithuanians, etc. I was greatly helped while doing the artworks for 1257 by a lithuanian reenactor, that also provided me with several links - many expired, now, sadly. Reenactment groups are still one of my main sources, even if it requires a bit to discern which are good and which are not. I'd suggest everyone Utgardas and Vilkatlakai mostly, which are both Lithuanians. The most noticeable thing, to be taken with a grain of salt, of course, since I'm simplifying a bit, as far as the XIII century is concerned, is that not much seems to be changed since the viking era.Β

Mhh, help me out, I actually cannot remember.Β
Actually I'm not really thinking about Praven, but should I ever do artworks referred to the Native world of Warband, know that I've always fought by King Harlaus the Fat side, so Swadia would be a priority
