I wouldn't venture anywhere NEAR to saying that my shading is flawless, because it's so damn tempremental, but thank you c':
If you're wanting something between realistic and cartoon, I'd definitely recommend focusing on realistic first. It doesn't have to be realistic looking, just realistic proportions. Try getting some images of body shapes and poses and try tracing around them in sketches to familiarise yourself with the 'normal' way a body works. Then, once you're comfortable with that, you can see about trying to make those shapes more unique to the character, accentuating them where necessary. I'm still in this process myself, trying to exaggerate things and make the shapes more unique and morphing them into a simpler, more cartoony style. I hope to eventually get more comfortable with 'characterising' full-body poses.

Thanks for the advice! I'm the most familiar with the head so I've just begun to stylize it in the last few months. I need to work more with the body before I feel comfortable enough to characterize it. I plan to do gestures as I've heard that is a big help but I like your advice too!

asdfghj omfg I don't know which of them I like better now :'D Boris' words are exactly the kind of thing I'd say, but Dimitri IS me spiritually and I feel a profound connection to both XD RIP Dimitri though, poor guy! Aaahhh you should definitely try doing more of these! They really get across the characters' personalities!
Currently, I'll say the same thing to you as I have to everyone else: right now, trades and commissions are closed. BUT I'm SO CLOSE to opening them again! I've just finished my last exam, and I've only got one final piece of coursework to finish up before I'm able to focus on art again! Sooo after next week I'll be more available, and to cut it short, I'd love to do an art trade ^u^

Hahaha X'DDD That's amazing to know! – That's some of how I imagine of those two fools interactions to each other. The project is currently on hold since I'm studying and working at same time. I'm so happy you liked it. Likewise, I'm always watching your drawings and characters, I love them a lot.

Eugh, hope you're feeling better ;n;'' I could feel the onset of a cold as I was at work the other day, and idk how the hell I managed to hold in all the sneezes that kept building up. I was serving a woman at one point and... well, y'know that face you make when you're really trying to hold in a sneeze but want to look like you're not really trying to hold in a sneeze, but it just looks like you've eaten an entire lemon? Yeah, I made that face for about 5mins solid. I think my throat and facial muscles got abs after such an intense workout...
It was good, yep. It had to be on a day when I had 11hrs at uni though D':
