nah, mine's totally hobby. i'm going to grow up and be a missionary; travel the world, help people find God, give food, and try to stop injustice where i can. oh, and play soccer with kids.

it's a long story.
basically, i spent the majority of my young like being unliked and abused by others, until i was about fifteen. i was sitting alone on a school bus and i prayed (not aloud, in my head) for the first time. i basically said, "God if you're not there, there isn't any point to me continuing to live like this. But if you are there and you do care about me, then send someone-- anyone to be my friend."
Immediately, a gothic girl turned around and asked me if i was okay. And i told her, "No." which was crazy because i didn't speak back then. i didn't realize that this was an aswer to prayer until much later, but God has always worked that way... you never know He's there until you look back and think about it.
That girl is still one of my best friends, and through her, i obtained and learned how to make more friends. And even though backwards, awkward, and it's taken me 22 years, i've got a certain amount of confidence and social ability now.
During my senior year of highschool, i had full intention on becoming an animator and drawing cartoons for a living. But one day, when i was by myself, i thought, "Is this really what i want to do with my life? Draw the same thing over and over in a small room where no one knows my work and i don't really change anything in the world?"
A boy i had a major crush on at the time was getting a small group together to go to Ecuador and deliver books to poor schools there. i wanted to go because i liked him. Magically, the money i needed in order to go appeared.
When i got there, everything changed. i felt so completely... i felt like i belonged. i wasn't doing anything crazy. i was just feeding orphans, and giving books, and playing with kids, and helping rebuild a church. small stuff that anyone could do... but since it's small, no one does it. i thought to myself, "i'm not really good at anything other than cartoons-- but i can do this. i can love people. i can do what they need me to do."
so there you have it. after that i spent four months in El Salvador, and i will be going to Guatemala in July. i'm getting my degree in English teaching so i can get a job anywhere once i start humanitarian work full-time, but basically, why i want to do it is... i love God, and He loves me and wants me to learn to love everyone else. and out of all the things i can do with my life... that sounds the most worth-wild. not to mention it's really fun.

Well, it's quiet interesting how these 'little' things could change a live so utterly. In your case, as I see it, everything seemed to happen by accident, but in the end these coincidences helped you to find your way in live.
And I really am impressed! Because these days it's rather unusual to choose this path in life. Or this belief in God.
