I'm real. I think.
Some days, like today, are just too good to actually be real, my heart is soaring and every mundane thing can me me grin like a cheshire cat. Days like today only happen in books; so I must be dreaming.
And then some other days are just so unfair and awful that they can't be real; I couldn't handle them if they were, and looking back they seem so absurd that my subconscious has probably invented them to give me some form of measuring-stick with which to measure my current joy.
So I guess I'm only real when everything is mediocre; and that suits me fine. Reality is over-rated; I prefer to have my head in the clouds than my feet on the ground.

It's not that I'm only feeling mediocre, it's that i've made it just as strong an emotion as pain and joy. Because I spent so long having such painful apathy towards .. well, everything really, a strong sense of nothing.
So life only feels real when it's what I'm used to, but I'm daring to acknowledge a full range of emotion that I couldn't handle before. The greater the scale of emotions means lower lows, but higher highs too.
I would say I wish I'd learnt this earlier but it's only by the pain of the past few years that I've been able to learn; and to dare to dream. So for that reason I wouldn't cahnge a single part of my past. Because it's what's made me who I am.
Gosh, even admitting that seems like a pretty big step xD
