I used to own and run an art gallery and I miss it. I learned so much from all the different artists and learned to appreciate all the different types of art. I also found that they appreciated things I took for-granted because we were different types of artists.

I know that since I have been on DA I have become better at my photography. I know I have seen growth in so many members of Art World Today and it makes me so happy. I love watching everyone as we grow and learn from each-other.

I have also learned from owning my art gallery what one person sees as art doesn't mean someone else see's it the same way. I was always surprised to listen to the people when they would walk through and comment on peoples work.

I am glad to have you as a member of Art World Today I just started the group the last week of May so we are still new and growing.

I have lots of plans just need time and points to get there lol. But having great active members is wonderful.

Please if you have any idea's or thoughts about the group please feel free to share. I don't think of this group as my group but our group.

So beatiful things to say. Is sad to know that you lost your gallery but Im glad you are back in the art world,I really think you are an inspiration for all those who have lost their fait in their art just because some people didn't liked it. Im sure the group would keep growing and it would help others to follow their dream and become great and famous artists. Thank you for inviting me to join this awesome group, this would help me a lot to grow up as an artist and person.
Im not great thinking about plans and ideas, but if I think about anything to help the group I'll share it with everyone there

I hope to one day open an art gallery again. We were part of the First Friday Art Walk which was so much fun. I met so many great people and enjoyed it a lot. We closed our shop because the land lady wanted to remodel the building we were in and we ended up having a surprise little baby last July. We moved to a different town to be closer to my family and hoped to open up here and get back into the art world. We were excited because the town we moved to had over 35 art venues listed for their First Friday Art Walk. But when we went on it we found it was not really an art walk but a whine tasting event. Really made us sad. I am hoping I can get one started here in this town but right now I am spending so much time with my little one. My baby will be one years old on July 21st.

If you have any questions that I might be able to help with feel free to ask. I hope that you are inspired to continue to grow in your photography. One thing I have found is photographers can be one of the most tight lipped group not wanting to share their secrets or help others out. This I think is sad not to share and help others grow. One of my favorite photographers in Ellensburg told me that he loves to teach and inspire other photographers because as photographers we can all be looking at the same tree and sky but we will all photograph it different. He says you don't have to worry about someone stilling your idea because we all see things different.

Wow, I never saw things from that point of view. I know almost all the photographers want to be famous and want people to talk about their art all the time, but thinking about it, the best way we can be known and we can leave our mark in the world (even being in heaven) is sharing our secrets with others, teaching them what we know so that they can teach others and appreciatte the art and learning more about it.
Im not mom and I don't know how does it feels being one but I've heard is one of the most wonderful things in the world, that it is a very special gift, full of new experiences and happiness.
Is great to know that your baby will be 1 year old in a few days Congratulations!

I agree the best way we can leave our mark is sharing with others. I find that I get inspired by other forms of art as well as photography and it makes me a better photographer. I hope that with my work it may inspire others as well. Maybe they will see what I could have done different and take it to the next step maybe they will just see something in a different way.

Yes being a mom is an amazing experience I have a 19 year old daughter and a 15 year old son and my baby turns 1 today. You can see my daughter and babies pictures in my gallery I need to add some of my 15 year old. Having children gives you a whole new look on life that is for sure.

I am glad I inspired you because you have inspired me! I have been waiting tell I had some time to comment back to you because I wanted to actaully put some thought into my comment and not a just hello note smile.

First, Happy birthday for you and for your baby, hope he/she has a great day .
I saw some of the pictures you took of your children, I already have 3 of them in my favorites , they're great, I specially like the little one because he/she looks cute and innocent but at the same time intelligent and happy.
I like to talk with you, it inspires me and it's great to talk with someone who can understand the art and the way it all works.
I hope I can feel that great experience of being mom soon

I have a baby picture posted of my daughter but the rest of the baby pictures I have posted are of my son who just turned 1 years old. My daughter is now 19.

Thank you for the comments on the pictures of my children.

I will be busy this week adding pictures and getting things set up on here for the First Friday Feature.

Can't wait to see who gets featured this month.
