Somewhat.
Jake loves to outsmart people, but he would rather make traps and sort instead of
directly speaking to one.
After all, he throws his weapons, his not a close combat type.
And the over-violent stuff is good too.
After all, Jake loves to outsmart people.
Make them run, make them believe they win, barely lose, and then spring the trap.
Thats a dangerous way to fight if your not sure how strong the opponent is, but Jake loves it dangerous.
So in the main time he will set up traps and try to lure you (or whoever fights him) into that trap.
Karl seems to be more of an outgoing fighter.
But you could see them as brothers in mind. Close, but not the same.

Just randomness and curiosity, How did you come up with Jakob?
I mean, the story around him and his design are not what you call "everyday"

Yay, randomness and curiosity! A lovable pair.
Maybe I'm a genius
But normally I first make a design. I'm not going too crazy on that first attempt, though.
Then I try to think about that person. Why is that person looking like that? What happened? What does this person WANT to happen?
Then I go crazy about the bg story. No relatives, but I think up about every possible thin they probably ever did.
I bet you know Sherlock Holmes? He determines a person by it's appearance. I do the same, just the other way around.
Now that I know the persons bg, I hint that in the behaviour, physique and clothing.
The longer I think about a fictive persons bg story, the more interesting and, even more important, the more believable it gets.
And I always think up weaknesses first. It can happen rather fast that you are extremely fond of your character and don't want to see any flaws in it.
But I think they are likable that way. Then I think up situations this person excels, like eating, running, thinking.
Maybe there's a superpower, so I have to balance that out.
And about Jake in specific:
He happened exactly that day I found the FFYL-group. I started thinking up an interesting design, and BOUM. You know the rest.
