I like history. it also scares me a little when people do or say things because they are historically significant, but ignore or do not make clear the connotations of the original action. To me it's a little like enabling the repetition of history.

I'm not saying YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS DOWN RIGHT NOW or anything like that. It's your right to say what you want, of course. I just want to know why you chose to take this statement and use it in a positive light. It's a very curious action in my opinion.

Well, call it a provocation. I chose it because creating artwork is a liberating experience. When i go through a slump and not create something out of nothing I feel oppressed. Being lazy is depressing and downright uninteresting. But when you engage in something physical with a genuine result, it gives you this sense of accomplishment.

It is this rational that the Nazis used that particular saying to numb the senses of their victims. To make them believe that what they are doing is somewhat rewarding in the end. Unfortunately, the end meant oblivion.

For us artists, the end is an infinite number of possibilities expounded on different aesthetic ideas, techniques and styles.

Okay, I respect that logic. In fact, that's rather clever to take something meant to give a false sense of comfort and use it to create a genuine discomfort in people's minds toward a positive end.

Speaking of concentration camps, I'm all in favour of such camps being built....to fill them with useless senators from the Senate. Especially those that oppose progress and civil rights. I want to start by making them appreciate "equal rights" by taking their away first.

meh. people are stupid. All of us, equally, just in different ways. Personally I have no real complaints if they're just waiting for that assessment of how the decision would affect the military to come back - but after that they have NO excuse to vote it down from even being discussed.
You're absolutely right though; the US appears to be swinging backwards from egalitarianism, and it's utterly ridiculous.

On a somewhat unrelated note, what are your thoughts on Gaga wanting to champion the Don't Ask Don't Tell cause?

As an active duty service member who's an immigrant and gay I applaud and support her efforts.

In the four years that I've been in the Navy, nobody has ever made a complaint, derogatory remark, sexually charged opinion or anything that has to do with my orientation. On the contrary, I have been treated with fairness, respect and praised for my ability to do my job. I have been promoted twice in less than 4 years, faster than most of my collegues, named sailor of month, quarter x2, and year. I have a good conduct medal and 2 Navy Achievement Medals not to mention numerous leters of commendations and appreciations from both the Navy and Marines. I also have qualified to be enlisted Surface Warfare Qualified. I have also been deployed twice both times to the Middle East and now Hawaii. I am M9 and M16 qualified and can field strip an M14 in less than 1 minute. I have held leadership positions over a division of young men, trained in tactical combat casualty care, assisted in surgeries and now in charge of Medevac missions coordinating with the Army and Airforce. Colleagues, senior leadership, officers and even Commanding Officers know of my orientation and not one of them has made a move against me becuse I complete the fucking mission. Bottom line, its all about the mission and its execution. Gay, striaght, men, women sheep...whatever complete the mission.

And according to these people that protest the repeal of DADT, I'm not qualified to serve? So yes, if Lady Gaga is taking the lead and being a motivated hardcharger to strike down this ridiculous law and make the military open, I do believe that you have my opinion on that.

To me its insulting that those four did not vote onit purely because there was an addenum on immigration.
