My cousin's had snails in their fish tank all the time. They're like the easiest pet to have. Just put something sticking out of the water like a rock so they have some place to rest and put some plants on it for them to snack on and your golden. They basically eat all the algae that forms in the tank as well so they're quite useful in keeping things clean.

I had a lot of pets growing up. I can't really have them anymore because my father has pet dander allergies and I don't really have the room for anything else.

My mother hates cats so it wouldn't go well for them. Also we have raccoons and skunks so cat food would attract them

both of them can be nasty, especially raccoons since they're known for getting rabies fairly easily in the wild. I tend to avoid them when I can. 

We also have a crazy amount of squirrels and little brown bats. The bats keep getting into our back porch and just hang out in there. Cute little bastards.
