I was so angry because I thought there was a bug trapped under my laptop's screen.
Turns out it was actually your avatar.

Thank you. I use a rotary tool (like a dremel), small files, sandpapers and scroll saw. oh and time... Sorry for the late answer but I had an accident and I had to spend 3 weeks in a hospital.

GhostSender In reply to paulmellor [2011-01-03 20:25:45 +0000 UTC]

Well thank you very much... Normally ebay is good, but you should go for dentist stuff, they are pretty good in bone carving although not very artistic The same applies to everything... I mean search for dentist stuff. cord? hmmm... frankly I've got the cheapest rotary tool what I've found in the local store. "Noname" or what's the brand... Oh and sorry 4 the late answer...

hello my dear friend Lajos ! ,....Sorry i was away for a few days, that's why i couldn't answer to your question. So,...when i started to carve in the bone stuff about 40 years ago, i started whit hammer and chisel, very tiny chisel as a mater of fact and a small hammer which i still have this days and i use from time to time,.. after a couple years I've bought a dentistry tool (rotary motor) which was very helpful to me but in the same time very hard to maintained in a good condition, that electric motor with almost 20.000 rotation /minute, had a wire transmission which you could easily brake so i had to loose it after 5 years. When the single electric piece motor with 25.000 rotations per minute arrived on the market, I've bought 3 of them 'cause i was so excited to improve my performance and in the same time to look like a small factory where the process is fluid and keeps going but i was wrongly mistaken because all those tiny motors where equipped with very tiny bearings easy to bust up. I had to change and buy a new one every time when the old one was full of bone dust in the bearings area and do not forget that the bone dust is very abrasive, so i knew that i need something more reliable. When i found this pneumatic tool on the market, i was entirely happy because it works at 55-to-70.000 rotations per minutes and the happy part is that it has a water filter and a small component whit oil for lubrication of the tool, so i got stuck whit it. This is the last equipment i use today and you'll see it when i will post some new pendants on DA. but do not forget that for using such tool you definitely need an air compressor 'cause the tool is pneumatic and it needs almost 6atmospheres to work. I wish you good luck and I'm watching you !
