I am not, actually.  I'd love to see what people use them in, but I am not making new models, and haven't touched mmd since 2015 with the alcor model.

Wouldn't it just be getting pmxEditor, opening them in it and saving them as pmx?  You can go ahead and do that with any of the models you need.  I'd like to see the finished product, if possible

PmxEditor is free, though I don't know how much is translated or where to get it, sorry

trust me, Ive already tried that....I tried with the Octavia model (after i conversed it to PMX), and it made the game crash. And i decided to try again with the Applejack model, and apparently PMD does work, but not as well as PMX. The shirt color for Applejack turned white and the cutiemark stood out, so in order to fix that, I had to get rid of the cutiemark file. and besides that, everything else was well, except the face has a few black spots all around. Im slowly fixing the problem and working around it, but its hard, since I'm not a expert at these things...

if just opening and saving it as pmx makes it crash, then I'm not really going to be able to help you.  I can't really remake that many models like that.  It's technically on my "things to do" list, revamping all the models, but it's a future thing that I haven't started yet. Nor am I likely to for awhile.

I'm sorry I can't help you, I just don't know how to help beyond what you've already tried.

The Video looks awesome too. I think it would have been better if the motions had matched up correctly , but I have no idea how to fix that properly, you probably already know that, and everything else was awesome.

All of them. I have no facial expressions at all. No blinking, only one mouth movement the little triangle mouth, can't move the eyebrows, etc. I don't know if I downloaded it wrong or if my computer just hates these particular models. Cause I downloaded Pinkie twice and got the same thing happening. Sorry if it turns out it just me and I just caused problems for no reason.
