# About me
My name is Anna. I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia (back then it was Leningrad, USSR) and at the age of 7 came with my family to Israel, where I live ever since. I speak Hebrew, Russian and English.I've been drawing ever since I remember myself. One of my first memories is making an imaginary drawing in the air.
I started to see myself as an artist only during the last year. My art style is abstract since it's the only way I can make art.
I use mostly pencils (graphite and colored) and pens. Lately I've started to paint and I hope to continue exploring this medium.
When I started drawing, it was very colorful, positive and naive, but somewhere around the age of 12-13 I switched to graphite pencils, and for many years I made mostly black and white drawings. I was always "drawn" to this color scheme, and I believe, that it can be very colorful. About a year ago I guess I "re-discovered" the color, and since then I feel I can see many colors everywhere I go.
For me, making art (and especially abstract art), is a way to express myself β show my thoughts, feelings and ideas, even those that I'm not aware of. It makes me calm, helps me concentrate and be aware of myself. I feel as if drawing is something that my body needs to do, same as breathing, eating, sleeping, etc. And since I've always felt that expressing myself in words was extremely hard, I feel that my art is my diary.
When I draw (or paint) I can't make any plans about it β I never know how it starts or how it's going to be or even if I'm going to like it. I draw with my hand, but it's only a tool for my mind, my subconsciousness and my soul.
I hope to continue developing as an artist and as a person.

Thank you for adding my work to your drawings collection. I, like you, never know where my creations are going. Not one has ever been planned. Also, abstract (whatever one calls my work) is the only style I draw or paint. Thank you for posting a little bit of who you are and about your drawings.
