Just curious. Did you find out about Watchmen from the movie? And did you read the book? Annnnd if you did, how do you think the movie was compared to the book.
Just curious

I did find out from the movie, and right after it ended, swiftly found a library to borrow the novel. I've nearly finished the novel, but thus far, I have to say, I'm more impressed with the film than the book. Don't get me wrong, the book is AMAZING , but the performances in the movie added a bit, especially ones by Jackie Earle Haley and Billy Crudup. Rorschach was so much cooler in real life for some reason...
I'm also not sure about this giant squid??
What about you?

I found out about it from the movie. As I was reading more and more about the movie that was soon to come out, I had to jump in and buy the novel. And that is saying something because I never read, haha. I finished the book pretty fast and I liked it, a lot. I thought the movie was great for a movie, but I didn't think it was better then the novel.
After reading more into the book, I noticed a fair amount of things that were changed, other then the obvious stuff. Like emotions and other subtle stuff from the movie. & I liked the squid more. Just because in the movie, everyone knew about Dr. Manhattan, everyone knew what he could do. But with an alien squid, they have never seen this thing before, and they didn't know if it would attack again. There are other things, but I really think it might be just because I was attached to the novel before I saw the movie.
Random side note ~ Cool hair.

Yeah, I've been tearing through the novel. I love all the little essays and added things in between the chapters. Really makes it feel more real!
Yeah, I've noticed some subtle differences, but I think that the movie was super close to the book; more so than most. You could tell that the director and those incorporated with it were fans!
I see what you mean about the squid, I don't know how it would have translated onto the 'big screen'. Would have been neat to have an alternate ending on the dvd, right!?
Yeah, probably is that, I was attached to the movie before I started reading the novel! Both are absolutely crazy good, though. I do love vigilantes, and some of these are the best I've ever heard of... (i.e. Rorschach )
Side note~ Thanks!!
