He has white hair, because as a child he was tricked/forced to use blood magic by a malifecarum, and during a ritual he was scarred, which resulted to his white hair and the red tattoos on his face. He is very religious (though not as much as Sebastian that he follows chasity XD), and ironically a supporter of the circel and chantry because he was saved by a templar. Thing is, he is forced to use blood magic still, because not doing it would result to pain, as well desire to kill/insanity etc.

ok i this may sound a bit off, but i didn´t want to post it at the comic itself so:
i think i found the Inconsistencies in the httyd comic.
first: hiccupp gets convinced by astrid in the movie but here he convinces himself to defy gravity.
second: in the movie ruffnut has the hotties for hiccupp at this point but here she looks like shes hating him.
third: in the movie they talk after hiccupps been saved by stoik. and they dont talk on the boat.
fourth: here toothless magically appears behind him. strange? oh yes, senza dubio.
fivth: there standing far away from the ships. two seconds before they were on the bloody ship.
six: that was a real pain to find but i think i found it. as hiccup flies above, leaves are flying in tha wind. without a tree in a one mile radius. sure
seventh: he flies through the clouds but one panel after the clouds are above him. strange? oh yes, senza dubio.
eighth: in tha movie that giant dragon thingy is already out of its secret liar in that mountan. but here its halfway in. seems like its stuck XD

Oh, I've been meaning to mention this like forever ago but--The Atlantis Complex Y/N?
Personally I was quite disappointed. I feel like the plot was jumping all over the place instead of flowing naturally. Instead of "A causes B" it was more of "I want B to happen, so let's make A this." And the phone conversation were his mom (mum? lol) tries to make him wear casual clothing sounds like a lot of AF fangirly fanfics I've read

Stuff I did like: Colfer's writing style has really solidified, and I enjoy some of the witty jokes he has. I expected to hate Orion, but surprisingly he was the most entertaining character for me.
So yeah, weakest book in the series imho. Hopefully the next (and probably last) will be epic and make up for it.

I give it a fairly firm MEH to be honest.
Agreeing with just about everything you said apart from the fanfic comment as I've never touched one and have nothing to compare it to.
There did seem to be a lot of fanservice going on though, even I - someone who is not apart of the fandom could see that.
I didn't like Orion at first because of what he was (felt a little like a deus ex machina??) but he was just so goddamn funny lmao. I'm kind of hoping he never makes a return though. But he probably will and it'll make little sense ahhhh.
I did like the villain- whose name escapes me as I just woke up xD - His character was pretty cool and unhinged up until the very end. His death just annoyed me- ngl. It was just so ~romantic~
I also agree with the weakest book. But I really did feel like it was setting up the stage for something bigger. If the next book IS the last, then I wouldn't doubt for a second that I'm right and Colfer just snuck in a huge prolouge.
