I was just looking through your gallery, and it made me miss you.
I hope you enjoy Senior Studio, and I want to be kept in the loop. I can't wait to visit, or just show up in class someday with a pencil and paper, seeing if G notices me, that'd be funny.

Aww Ernie! I miss you too!
Please let me know when you come up! We'll set up camp somewhere and have a good warm time. I'll make brownies even!
How's college life treating you, in any case?

College life is fun. Alot of drinking, so far I've spent two night working on art until 6Am. The studios are open 24/7, and no one is ever there! I just blast music and work for hours.
None of my teachers are really as cool as any of the ones in Kingston though, it makes me sad.

Oh man, what a feeling. The staying in the studio until late nights by yourself, not the drinking, ahaha. Though I'm sure that's an experience as well. (All part of the college life, right? How much take-out have you ordered since you got there. Seriously. X3)
I'll keep you posted on the Kingston going ons! The schools really gone down the drain to the point where even I'm depressed about going back. It's gotten to a ridiculous point. You have to wear IDs as you know, homeroom is apparently at the beginning of 2nd period (they got rid of homeroom). You can't enter the building through any other doors except the main entrance and the breezeway door by the gym. They renovated the cafeteria (the school's campus was closed) to look like a fucking DINER but there's still gigantic holes in the walls and boarded up plaster everywhere else.
They switched around the security office and the attendance office and the whole place is screwy. I wish I had filled in to finish my high school career at UCCC now--this is just ridiculous. You got out right in time, I'm tellin' ya.
At least I'm an art student, though, and have the safety of Mrs. G's room and the art department to keep me standing, though!
See ya when I see ya man.

Holy Shit, that sounds like hell. And they didn't even make it public as to allow anyone to give grievances against it.
I really want to see it, but I'm sorry it had to happen on your senior year. I'm sure that G's room won't change that much, and you'll still have a great year in there. I miss her room so much.
Drinking is in abundance up here. I went through over a hundred dollars in alcohol the first week. But I'm giving up on drinking, just spending my time doing art. Which I actually have to go do my homework now, three hundred gesture drawings.

I need your suggestion!
If I was looking for a tablet for me mac, which one should I get, as a beginner?
Something I could use for photography, and for a little dabble in the digital painting.
Preferablly nothing toooooo expensive.
And, i'm nervous, because I'm worried like, how easy is it to use one, is it like, easy? cause' you can't really see what your about to draw, or idk.
Any help you could give would be cool.
( I think i might have asked you this in school once.)

I don't know much about macs, but I think your best bet is a Wacom graphire. It's the tablet I've had for two years, and it's still in absolutely awesome condition. The graphire also comes with a glass case that covers it, which new tablets don't come with anymore. It protects the sensitive piece of equipment , and doesn't impair your drawing ability at all.
The one I got was 80$, and it was... 4x5, I think. Not much, and a small tablet isn't as big a deal as you think. There's really no need to get big unless you're used to like, working on huge, wall-sized canvases. Not like you can do that on the computer anyway, reall.
It's really easy to get used to, too! I wouldn't worry about that at all. Colin said you were going to get a tabelt computer because you won't be able to use the ones that connect to the computer well. That's a bad idea. The tablet computer will probably brake much easier, and good ol' graphire tablets work great, and are so easy to use. It literally took me less than a week to get used to it. The fact that you can't see what you draw doesn't really affect you; you get used to it very quickly.
I hooooppeee you get a good tabloot!

Yea, I looked at the Graphire, and i like it, especially the fact that's it's got bluetooth as well. I've been looking all night tonight, and I think I settled on the small Bamboo one.

Wadya think?

Grays0n In reply to Erklep [2008-10-05 13:34:32 +0000 UTC]
NO. Don't get the bamboo! It's far too sensitive and will brake much easier. Colin has one, and it's crap. Plus, it's more expensive in most places. (On Amazon it's only 60, which is really, really decent.)
Sure, it's the newer model, but I've been using Colin's tablet for months and I STILL haven't gotten used to it. It doesn't come with a protective glass case, and there's no glass case that can hold it. I really don't think you should get the bamboo. It has a lot of problems; especially for beginner tablet users. I've used a lot of tablets in my time, and Bamboo's so far the worst.

80$ isn't bad at all for such a decent tablet. AND it'll last you for years. You could also probably find one cheaper if you search hard enough. I ordered mine straight from the wacom site, so.
Good luck!

Well, Thanks for your help. After I found out that Wacom also makes Bamboo, I bought the bamboo one, It has great reviews everywhere, and the other one had bad reviews.
But, if it doesn't work out, you can totally say, "I told ya so."
Thanks again.

I really have no clue why. I don't get to this day why everything in the world is coming out with shittier, less reliable new models. I have a feeling you're gunna feel that when it starts to break down from about a year of heavy use, but your choice and I should stop harpin'! Enjoy your tablet.
