What sort of character we talking about here

You'll want little visual clues, like jewelry or other trinkets visible yet nondescript that link her to her heritage. Her hair doesnt need to be all wispy and evil looking like a goddess of death but it's probably gotta stay dark, maybe with some two-tone highlights or something. Gives it a sense that it's partway transformed into something other than regular hair.
If you don't like all black and moody for her outfit, maybe throw in some trim like something pale yet colourful. Mild lavender or sky-blue. Go with a theme like stripes or crescents of colour, downplay it but certainly don't forget that it's there. Make her face open and un-obscured without excessive makeup, and not hidden by bangs or a hood. This ain't Raven or Samara. Defy the tropes by making her SEEM outgoing but able to change her nature in a moment. Why should a goddess of death fear those around her? They're just her underlings in the long run.
It's all about theme, subtlety and yet substance. If she's living amongst the humans she'll be better equipped to do so if she's not shutting herself off and hiding away. Death is all around us, let her embrace being out there and open.

Him and Giygas (or the Primal Evil, since nobody in the lore knew its real name) was the final antagonist of the series. Him was gonna weaponise it to use against all realities and spread endless corruption.
