# Interests

Favorite visual artist: I'm going to have to think about this ... I have a few.
Favorite movies: I'm going to have to think about this ... it depends upon the mood I'm in.
Favorite TV shows: We don't have access to TV reception ... we got tired of paying high prices for the same thing on every channel, "reality shows", & sports (which my husband doesn't like). We just use our TV's for videos movies & documentaries that WE want to see!
Favorite bands / musical artists: Celtic Woeman, Nat King Cole, Boston Pops Orchestra, ...
Favorite books: Old hymnals (I collect them), Little Women,
Favorite writers: Clive Cussler, Louisa May Alcott, ...
Favorite games: Scrabble, Yahztee, Pinochle, Solitare
Favorite gaming platform: Usually board & card games, but I do like some computer games and games on my tablet.
Tools of the Trade: Acrylics, pencils (lead & colored)o
Other Interests: Reading, singing, directing chorus, knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, gardening, playing with my dog & 4 cats, and just spending time with my husband (and daughter whenever we can get up to see her).

# About me

I'm retired and have always loved dabbling around in various forms of art. As a teenager, I mainly drew both cartoon characters and the "learn to draw" sketches on the matchbook covers. I never took an art course in school (now I wish I had). In the mid-70's I went to a night class in Tole Painting. I loved it, but working in oils and having to use turpentine made my migraines worse, so I had to give it up (sigh!). I've always had to be surrounded by color, so after marriage I stuck with my needle arts (embroidery, crochet, knitting and then quilting). After retiring I took a water color night class, but it just wasn't my "thing". Acrylic paints seem to fill my need for color and "no smell"! I know that there is a new odorless brush cleaner for oils, but I thought I'd start with something less expensive. So far I've just been learning from tutorials, but I hope to post something soon.

Thank you ... I love the picture of the chimp!  I'm sorry I'm so late in replying, but we were out of town and then I got busy with the chorus I direct and haven't been paying too much attention to anything else.
