Thanks!...I hope you read all 10, and revel in their mediocrity.
Although I attempt seriousness sometimes...

i don't get why half of my friends like Diana Wynne Jones so much. i read one of her books and it was rather ordinary and i forgot the name of it until i googled her book list just now and remembered that it's "Charmed Life".

It's okay. I liked Charmed Life. Not a enormous ton, but I liked it. I admire several things about her as an author, and I like her stories. That's all.
Um, I don't know what you mean by ordinary...I don't know many books like Charmed Life. Certainly none like Dark Lord of Derkholm. But that's all okay.

I can't help but interrupt here and say a few things on Diana Wynne Jones:
1. Her style of writing is awesome.
2. Her characters are usually pretty good, not great, but there are always a few who are just amazing.
3. Charmed Life was great, but only because of Chrestomanci.
4. Dark Lord of Derkholm was better, but Year of the Griffin was waaay better than it was.
5. Howl's Moving Castle was the best. Calcifer and Howl were amazing and the rest of it was brilliant too.
I still read her books when I'm bored and I just want to read something easy and funny. They're the best when you're sick and can't get out of bed anyway.
Just thought I'd share. ^__^

Right, okay, thanks then.
Howl's Moving Castle is indeed her best story. I just liked the atmosphere of Dark Lord for some reason. And Year of the Griffin is almost unrelated, although obviously it is--but great fun.

ordinary...not in the story and events (no, those were weird) but just not stand-out-ish. as in, i read it and forgot about it.

I dunno, I don't like my poetry. My prose is a little better.
And I should get back to doing graphics...
