I am an artist and educator originally from Detroit. I think because I grew up in the Motor City, my work has a funky eclectic feel to it. I think in Detroit there is a lot of appropriation in the landscape and architecture- people use whatever is at hand. I think that is really what my work is about -morphing of ideas, amalgamation, appropriation, turning stuff on it's ear, tongue in cheek.Current Residence: South Carolina

It is truly sad that some people don't appreciate kindness and are offended by opinions and suggestions. These days I'm not feeling very appreciated, not that I need or want people to lick my boots, but I'm tired of funky attitudes or being completely ignored simply cause I don't drink the corporate kool-aid or bow down to others. I guess I need to focus on art and disappear for a while. I got bigger fish to fry than to try and help folks that don't appreciate it.

I am starting to get back into art making again it's been several months since I have seriously made art. I think i have tons to say and I can do it in a sophisticated way. i'm glad my paintings have shifted away from pop imagery as much cause they were never really about that. "Act One" is more representative of what i am doing of late. As for the pop stuff it still has a place, but it's more so in my illustrations and some of my video ideas.
