The bad thing about St Andrews is there is very little scope for artistic pursuit - I have no paints up here so I haven't done anything since A Level! I like oil pastels too but for some reason I haven't picked them up since GCSE. Feeling inspired to unearth them now when I get home. Hooray!

Wish I was a painter. Haven't done any actual painting in about a year now. It upsets me that you get taught all these things at school and most of them you never pursue when you've left. I must do something over the summer (same with flute practice - another thing I've learnt but don't want to lose. My teachers would be ashamed!)

Takes a lot of discipline, to keep things up. Especially art if you're not studying it - everything else gets in the way (like STUDYING! PAH!)
I think you should play the flute nice and loud in your room with the door open. Naomi hates the instrument. What do you like to play most? I'm a jazz man, when I can do it... xx

I'm aware of Naomi's hatred for poor flutes, and I'm excited to hear that you enjoy the yazz flute - I've never played proper jazz (let alone anything Ron Burgundy-style). My orchestra played a lot of Shostakovich (which I love) and other popular classical stuff. To be honest, although I've been playing for about 9 years or so I actually know very little about music. My school was really musical and I was never considered anything near as good as a lot of people there who were naturally talented - I'm definitely not a musician, I just enjoy playing! x

Ditto on that last comment. Well, no, I would say I'm a musician, but like, compared to Naomi, I know absolutely nothing. I'm a popular musician, as in, know what most people know. The famous composers and pieces. I can't name any conductors, or any famous musicians apart from a couple (Sir James being one of them, of course...) whereas Naomi just reels off names - 'oh we're playing this piece' or 'I'm listening to this girl' or 'I'm going to watch so and so'. I just smile and nod har har!
