Yeah it has been forever. I can't seem to bring myself back to GO, knowing that there is a wall of posts waiting to be read. Particularly when I keep in touch with everyone else on facebooks and other such methods. Though I do miss you very much.

I guess with your lack of Facebooks you wouldn't know, but I recently was assaulted on the bus by a random stranger. He claims I had a knife....which is nonsense. But he kicked, and broke, my nose. Then proceded to punch on me....

So life is less than pleasant right now.
But my birthday was great

GO's been active in spurts, pretty much. At the moment not much is happening, though I've tried my best to spur on conversation. Oh well, everyone has a life.

I miss you too! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. My life's pretty good so far. I got my AA degree in the fall and I'm working on my BA now. I've been taking interesting classes and so far I've gotten As. My college goes in quarters instead of semesters, so I take two classes at a time. So far it's a pretty good arrangement.

Eventually we'll be embarking on a new site, so that might be exciting. Don't worry, I have trouble remembering I have a DA account too.

Did you know I'm writing a book? It's been going pretty well. I think I just need two or three more chapters and it'll be done as far as a rough draft goes. I'm pretty excited since it's the first idea I've had that has even approached completion.

Luckily I know who you are referring to. J gave me eight volumes of the Soul Eater manga, but I didn't really get into it. I feel like if I had to pick characters I sort of liked they would be Crona and Death the Kid, though. It took me a while to understand that people could be weapons and have people lives at the same time.

the manga can be hard to follow. The anime does well on explaining the universe. Until it splits up in the same way that FMA does. It moved to fast, and decided to make its own plot

So you would say the anime is better? I agree that the manga was hard to follow. It seemed like a lot happened in the beginning that weren't really relevant later (as far as my knowledge of the plot goes). Like, what was the point of Excalibur or however that situation went? J told me about him in advance and I thought he would be a bigger part of the plot.

well I love them both for different reasons.
The I like the plot of the manga better (when they diverge)
but the anime does a better presentation for sure.

Excalibur has relevance. But not a lot. He mainly comes off as a joke character....he is likely my least favourite part of the series.

I might reread what I have of Soul Eater to see if it makes more sense the second time around. I remember it felt like it was throwing a lot of information at me right off the bat. J also warned me about the fanservice and when I got to it I was like "man he wasn't kidding." Not that I thought he was, but it was more fanservice than I expected.

I know that sometimes it takes me a few chapters/episodes/whatever for me to really understand the world a story takes place in. I've noticed that sometimes I may not like a character for the longest time then all of a sudden I realize what they're about and I like them. I usually make a note to myself what I should pay better attention to if I want to reread/rewatch something.

I haven't actually rewatched/reread anything I plan on doing that for since I sort of would like to watch/read something entirely new to see if I like it or not before that. Why don't you like

This does remind me of something because sometimes I feel like I like I just miss stuff in shows/books/whatever unless it's totally obvious to me. I can and will miss subtlety at times. For instance, I found one of the main characters in Kamen Rider Ryuki to not be that interesting to me. I read some really good in-depth analysis about him and I'm like "wow, how did I miss this?" Since Ryuki would be something I would want to rewatch I would definitely pay attention to this character to see if I like him any better knowing what he's about. I suppose that sometimes I don't pay attention to characters and such if they don't interest me to begin with, even if development makes them better or whatnot.

Same here.

I've been trying to get into some new TV shows so I could get a new interest besides toku shows. I tried out three different shows and my favorite is this murder mystery reality show competition called Whodunnit. I'm not a fan of reality shows in general, but this one makes me think about how the victim died and such. It's fairly creepy too--nothing nightmare-inducing, but it's somewhat unsettling.
