Coincidentally, my father's birthday is this weekend as well. I hope yours turn out fine that day. Chances are, we'll go to a quality restaurant that he likes. It should be a fine time there. We don't get to go often so the food is always yummy. Overall, a fine weekend this should be.

So, there's something I've been wanting to ask you, Husky. Do you have any original characters of your own? Even if you don't use them often, I wonder.
π: 0 β©: 1
HimalayanHusky In reply to Child-Of-The-Light [2019-06-09 00:36:28 +0000 UTC]
I had some when I first started drawing but they're all scraped and irrelevant now. I do have characters still used today and most are humans (some are normal like us and some have features such as wings or altered by aliens) but I also have this hermaphrodite canine thingy-who-knows too.Β
But usually I only draw the people I see in real life such as a teacher or my sister which is why I guess my original characters aren't fleshed out as much as I'd like.

Child-Of-The-Light In reply to HimalayanHusky [2019-06-09 06:21:57 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah? Well, I'm sure your characters would be interesting either way. Thanks for letting me know about them. The reason I asked is because I was wondering if you'd ever want to role play with my characters, preferably my original pony ones once I draw them. The reason I'd ever want to do that is because I want to flesh them out and so I may practice at portraying them. To be fair, you don't have to agree to this since I'd hate to force something like this on someone. But if you do ever become interested, you may also be yourself if you don't think any of your characters would fit for it. I think that would be fun also. But, it's your choice.

It's alright. I just wondered if you were up for it. If we were to have done it, I would have probably wanted a scene in which you portray yourself as you play with Zinnia as if she was a pet or something. Mainly since I want to do a similar scene in my Super Mario fanfiction series once I get there. But like I said, it's all fine if you don't want to. I'll probably be focused on my own characters for now.

Thanks for the offer nevertheless. If one of these days I'm adventurous enough, I'll let ya know and give it a shot.
Ooh interesting. Is it for the everlasting heroes one or a new fanfiction?

Child-Of-The-Light In reply to HimalayanHusky [2019-06-11 01:44:58 +0000 UTC]
No problem. The offer will stay open in case you ever become interested. Just saying so. By the way, I finished sketching out Crafty Canvas. I figured it would be a better way to introduce her as a character via a drawing. I'll get to Ruse later on.
Yes, the Everlasting Heroes is my main series and one I want to continue working on. Zinnia will appear in it eventually but Disarray appears first. It makes more sense in a story sense this way. I should write a few more stories before I get to Zinnia's part.

Glad you're still here, Husky. I've been pretty good recently. I've uploaded a few new fanfictions and now I hope to upload another journal entry that expresses my original characters in some way.

That should be good. I'd appreciate it if you would, Husky. The three most recent stories I wrote are "Hopes to Rubble" Which is the second story in my Super Mario Brothers fanfiction series. It's when the Mario Brothers fight against the Whomp King when he threatens to crush the kingdom. The next one is "Watermelana's Bizarre Shopping Day" It is actually a gift for one of my other friends on here, called SJArt. My friend is actually interested in ponies and owns a character. I think we know where this is going. To make a long story short, I wrote a five part story featuring my friend's character, Watermelana. This is what the mare looks like.Β Watermelana with a melon Β The last story is called "Lazy Day" it's the shortest one of all and is the third story for the Super Mario series. Instead of beating up a bad guy, Mario and Luigi just hang around at home and have fun. It's supposed to be a more laid back kind of story and it has a premise that I usually like. Overall, you don't have to read them but they're always available.Β
So true, I will always have that energetic youth deep inside me. I'll be twenty two years old this year. Hmph, I won't let something like old age prevent me from giving it my all in life. I will continue to do what I enjoy until I die, hopefully that isn't anytime soon.

Child-Of-The-Light In reply to HimalayanHusky [2019-04-01 01:07:02 +0000 UTC]
Of course, here we go.Β Remember my filly, Zinnia? I've changed her personality and skills slightly. Zinnia tends to be shy towards others but in a more skittish way. Whether Zinnia opens up and accepts you or not heavily depends on the first impression. If you treat her kindly and gently enough, she'll gladly want to be around you. Treat her harshly though and Zinnia will never feel safe around you. Thus she'll almost never say a word to you and will try to hide if there's an opportunity to. But if you did the former and got her to like you, then Zinnia will reveal her true self. Which is to be a happy-go-lucky, playful unicorn.Β
Zinnia's personality aside, her skills revolve around her magical horn. She tends to cause trouble with her magic since she tends to get too excited and makes mistakes with it all. But there are two things she excels in. The first is being able to turn herself invisible and the second is to transform herself into a mouse. There's a theme with those two skills. Do you know what they are?
In the end of the day, I like to think that Zinnia is a unicorn with a pegasus's personality. When she gets past her shyness, she has a lot of energy and is optimistic. Any opinion on this update on Zinnia, Husky? I almost forgot to mention since Zinnia is small enough to fit, when there is a grown mare that she knows is around, Zinnia tends to hide between their legs/under their bellies whenever she is afraid or shy of someone else. It somewhat plays off the fact that she is missing a mother figure in her life.

I've always felt a connection to Zinnia because she's just a sweet little filly who wants to have fun. I think you've done a good job fleshing her out and can't wait to see her develop even further.
π: 0 β©: 1
Child-Of-The-Light In reply to HimalayanHusky [2019-04-09 00:05:08 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for your feedback, Husky. Glad to hear it all. I added her shyness because I figured it would fit her character, especially since she is named after a flower. Like a real flower, treat her too harshly and carelessly, you'll ruin her. Gentleness and care are the ways to get her open up and show her true self.Β
But if I may go back to how Zinnia hides underneath the mares for protection, I imagine that the mares are surprised but accepting to let Zinnia stay down there when they feel her because they care about her and since they realize that when Zinnia's owner is away, she doesn't have many to watch over her for the time. Like, sometimes Zinnia make them feel a little ticklish since she tends to rub her head and mane against their tummies. On the flipside of that, she unintentionally also pokes them with her horn which hurts slightly and they think it's annoying. It's the downside of the mares having a unicorn underneath them but they try to tolerate it. In other words, all the adorable stuff happens when Zinnia is hiding down their with a pinch of humor.

I'm sure horns do tend to be a bit spikey given their appearance. That's interesting how her name sort of symbolizes her nature and personality. Yay for motherly figures!Β Β

One more thing Husky, there are a few drawings of Zinnia that I wanted to do that I'm not sure I'll get to. Mainly since I don't have drawing paper or the skill to but we'll see. I had about three in mind. The first is a front view of her body with her eyes open, that way it can be used as reference if I ever get a drawing of her comissioned, the second one is Zinnia getting possessed by an evil piranha plant. It would rest on top of her head while it sprouts its roots onto her brain. And the last one would be her as a bat filly. I like bats naturally and it's an idea I've been wanting to do. As stated, her horn would be gone.
π: 0 β©: 0
Child-Of-The-Light In reply to HimalayanHusky [2019-04-10 02:05:33 +0000 UTC]
I'd think so. It looks like Zinnia had a little skewer coming out of her head. She tends to use it as a line of defense, but since it's short, it doesn't do much damage other than to poke others. It's reasons like that to why I think it's important to name your character wisely. It should fit the character's personality in some shape or form. Unless you were to go for something ironic, you'd never name a buff, powerful stallion "Snowflake" it just doesn't fit otherwise. That's why I often give names a lot of thought when I'm making new characters.
Huzzah! Although some of those mares would also be sisterly figures because they have younger sisters that are about Zinnia's age. But since Zinnia doesn't actually know what happened to her mother, the least the others can do is help her feel safe when she needs that comfort she'll likely never receive. Regardless, I hope to do more with Zinnia one day. I like her as a character so far and I hope to give her more life than she already has. Maybe through my fan fiction series she'll finally get a moment. It'll take some time before that though since Disarray is scheduled to show up first.
