I, too, am now the product of overzealous "enforcers" of the DA "laws".
Yeah, I'm bitter about this. I'm bitter because it's fokkin impossible to get ahold of the original artist if they happen to be a manga artist in Japan. Not onlycan I NOT ask permission, but they wouldn't care. Really. People in Japan are MAKING MONEY by doing the same sort of thing and not getting in trouble. Not a bit. I can personally assure then that
1. I will never get sued over this, nor will they. and
2. Even if they WANTED to sue me or DA, they could ask for me to take it off first and I would. Gladly. DA would even more gladly because they love deleting things.
I don't believe this crap they say about copyright, I read up on copyright laws a while back and if fansubbing isn't illegal, icon making for Japanese series that haven't even reached the states sure as hell isn't. I think this is more likely a way to make DA smaller because they've had problems with the amount of bandwith they use.

I hope no one is upset...I was trying to get my mouse to work today, and for some reason it clicked "+fav" on a picture that was not one I wanted to +fav...so I deleted it. I hope no one sees that I deleted them from the fav and gets upset -.-' But really, if you look at my favorites, you'll notice that not only am I not a +fav whore, but I'm not even the usual when it comes to +favs. A +fav whore being the people who +fav like 20 things a day (I think if you +fav that many, it isn't really a FAVORITE, is it?), and more normal being anywhere from one every other day to a few a day.
I +fav things only when they really REALLY speak to me as an artist, on either an emotional or personal level. I want to keep up that last +fav, the comic 'This is how I work', because I looked at it and thought "change a few things, and that's me". It spoke to me, but also made me laugh, which is very rare (having both), so it deserves it's place of honor for as long as possible.

So, more presents to upload. Now, here on Deviant art, I think I'm actually going to express what I feel about my work, which is not the case anywhere else. For those who don't know, I have a review site and am slowly working on a comic. I normally say nothing about any of it, except things like "Oh, I finished another page today." That's becaue I don't want to turn into someone constantly being either too cocky or too self-depricating. But here I think I will allow myself that freedom. That said, I love making things like this- bookmarks, wallpapers, icons-because I love the idea that something I worked on is being enjoyed by others who like it as well.
I don't exactly know why, but it makes me happy thinking that someone, somewhere, has a wallpaper I made on their desktop, etc. The design work that I do makes me much more proud than the artwork, even though the art is harder to work on. I think this is probably because I can look at other's work and say "Well, mine isn't as good as their's because -----", but with design work, it's different. Everyone in the fandom usually knows the picture you are- for instance- making a wallpaper out of. However, YOU are the only one who could have created that specific wallpaper. Only you see things in the way you do - no one else has the same exact sense of what looks right.
I think that's the beauty of design work - unlimited possiblities within one finite image.
